Chapter 24

"Rishab, Hey, kahan kho gaye?? Hellooo..Mr. khadoos?? I am asking you something. Where did you find my earnings?"says Khushi after shaking Rishab as if to wake him up from sleep. Rishab was thinking about a reasonable answer. He first starts as if he is not aware of the thing. He says,"Which earnings are you talking about?" Khushi drags Rishab into his room then into his closet. She takes the box from the shelf and shows the earnings taking them out of it. Rishab says,"Oo, these are yours? I don't remember how it came. I am going to rest. Bye." Khushi grabs his hand and asks,"Wait..wait..You are acting suspicious..Why?? Hmm..As far as I remember I had them before you had dropped me home the first time. Yes. It was in my folder which was with you that night. So you had them since then. Why didn't you return me?" Rishab avoids looking into her eyes and says,"Okay its yours then? I don't remember. You can take them if you want." He gets out of the room saying that. Khushi speaks to herself,'Yeh ayesa kyon behave kar raha hai?? You can take them if you want?? Mera earnings hai of course I will take them. Dal mein kuch kala hai..I will find out what you are hidding Mr.khadoos.'

By evening they get the call from the doctor that Rishab has viral fever. He tells them that Rishab needs enough fluids and proper rest along with medicines. At night Khushi is busy reading a book as Rishab has fallen asleep. She gets up to check on him. She goes near the bed and touches his forehead. She then turns to leave when Rishab holds her hand to stop her. Khushi turns and goes to sit beside him. She asks," You woke up? Are you feeling okay?" Rishab says,"Hmm..I am having a headache. Where were you?" Khushi replies,"I was outside in the living area reading." She gets into the bed beside him and starts massaging his head. After sometime thinking he has fallen asleep, she decides to go into her room. She is about to leave when Rishab says,"Please don't go tonight." Khushi looks at him and realises she can't leave him too. She says,"Shhh..just sleep. I am not going anywhere."

In the morning Rishab wakes up to find Khushi not there in the bed. Rishab gets up disappointed. He has started loving waking up to see her cute little face sleeping beside him. He goes into the washroom. After sometime Khushi enters the room with a tray of breakfast. She finds the bed empty. Just then Rishab comes out of the washroom in his towel. Khushi stares at him and realising he is bare body shouts,"O sorry sorry." Biting her lips she turns around. Rishab finding Khushi in his room immediately rushes in the closet. After a few minutes, she asks,"Hey can I turn now?" Rishab from the closet replies that yes she can. Khushi goes to the sofa and places the tray on the centre table. She can't take the picture of bare bodied Rishab out of her mind. What a body he has she thinks.

Rishab comes out of the closet all dressed up for the office. Khushi is still busy thinking about him that she doesn't notice him sitting down on the sofa beside him. Rishab snaps his finger in front of her to make her come out of her day dreams. He says,"Where have you gone lost?" Khushi smiles and turns around to see Rishab all dressed up. She looks at him from top to bottom and asks,"Why have you got ready? Where do you think you are going?" Rishab taking sip of juice says,"Office aur kahan." Khushi holding his shirt says,"Are you crazy? You are not going anywhere. Doctor has asked you to stay indoors and take rest. You want to land into the hospital or what.." Rishab says,"I have so much work today. I have contract signing, meetings with lawyers and have to go to the factory also. What do you want me to do, stay at home? I just can't." Khushi gets angry, she says,"Why don't you listen to me ever?You don't care what I say. You are so adamant about everything." and in her anger pulls Rishab's shirt so hard that he falls over her. His lips touches her lips. Rishab puts his hand on the sofa's back controlling himself and gets up. A few minutes goes by without anyone speaking to each other. Rishab trying to break the awkwardness says,"Sorry....well..... Listen..don't get angry but I have to go." He gets up but Khushi holds his hand and says,"Tumhe meri kasam if you go out of this house today. If you love me I mean in a positive way, then you will keep my promise..rest your wish." She gets up and leaves the room.
