Chapter 1- New Beginnings

(Daniels POV)

My hands started shaking as I stood outside the counsellor's cabin, its been a year since the last time iv been here. After last years " incident" iv been going to therapy, iv changed a lot since then, for one I wear black jeans, a green t-shirt and a grey sweater. My therapist told me to stay away from the colour white since it could trigger my PTSD. Iv been told I'm also a lot more timid and quiet than I was when I first got there. This place brings back a lot of bad memories but... I need to see him again. I...really miss him, he's the only reason I wanted to get better, he made me feel something iv never felt before, love. I shook the thoughts out of my head, I need to focus, I came back to make it up to everyone.

"Ok, time for redemption", I mumbled to myself as I raised my hand to knock, I stopped. But what if he hates me? The anxiety came back. Before I could overthink anymore I was snapped out of my thoughts "what the fuck are you doing here!" The voice made me jump, oh no, oh no, please don't tell me, " Daniel what the fuck, did you really think that disguise would fool anyone? I mean maybe David but", I turned around to face the black-haired boy. "H-hey max" my voice was quiet and lacked confidence.

"Here ill ask again", Max sounded annoyed.
"What the fuck are you doing here"
" W-well I uh just f-finished my therapy s-sessions and wanted um s-start over", hearing it come out of my own mouth I even thought it was a lie. "Right", I looked down at the ground beneath me, well this is going well. "Ya'know what I'm just gonna pretend like I don't know who you are", max headed down to the dock where the rest of the campers were. It looks like everyone from last year was back, and from the looks of it, David and Gwen are still the only camp counsellors... My eyes locked onto David, he was the only reason I was still alive, he's saved my life so many times without even knowing it. My face started to heat up...wait am I...blushing? I was ripped out of my thoughts when I saw Max tug on David's shirt. Fuck
