[THREE DAYS LATER]

“I can’t do it.”

“Yes you can. It’s what she would’ve wanted, Harry.”

“I can’t.”

“She’s almost gone.”

“She’s been gone for three days.”

[pause].

“Her casket. Her casket is almost in the car.”

“I love you, Evie.”

“Harry, open your eyes.”

“I love you.”

“Harry.”

“Everly, I think I might be done.”

“Done?”

[Car door closes].

“Is she gone?”

“What do mean, done?”

“Everly, answer me. Is she really gone?”

“She’s been gone for three days, Harry. You know that.”

“I know. I know, I know. I love you.”

“Are you really done?”

“I love you.”

“You aren’t leaving me.”

“Of course not. I’d never leave you.”

“Then why are you saying you’re done?”

“I’m done with Oakwood. We need to leave.”

“We?”

“I love you, Evie.”

“When are we leaving?”

“Tonight.”

[Pause].

“I love you , Harry.”

“She’s been gone for three days.”

“Mel loved you, too.”

“You know I’d never leave you, right?”

[Pause].

“Let’s go home, Harry.”
