Kylo Ren and the Scoundrel

~Chapter Seventeen: Final Fight~

   Ben stands looking at the red saber in his hands. He turns seeing is father. He smiles lightly.

   "Hey, kid," Han says. "I miss you, son."

   "I miss you too, dad," Ben responds. "She's gone." Ben's eyes swell with tears. "Y/n's gone."

   "No. Kylo Ren is gone. She's still there Ben, find her."

   "You're just a memory."

   "Your memory. Come home."

   "It's too late. She's gone."

   "Your mother's gone. But what she stood for, what she fought for that's not gone."

   "I know what I have to do," Ben pauses. "But I don't know if I have the strength to o it." Han places his hand on his son's cheek.

   "You do."

   "Dad," Ben turns holding out the saber.

   "I know," Ben turns away from Han throwing the red saber into the ocean.

   "Finn," Ben says walking over to him. Finn runs to his friend.

   "What happened? Are you hurt?" Finn asked.

   "She stabbed me," Finn freaked. Ben covered his mouth. "But she healed me."

   "Okay, well," Finn pauses. "What now?"

   "I'm taking a ship from Jannah and going to find Exegol and kill Palpatine. Maybe I can find her." 

   "Okay well, be safe Ben." Ben smiles walking to the ship he was taking.

   Y/n stands before her tie fighter in flames. She takes off her Kylo Ren outfit throwing it into the flames. Now standing in all black, long black shirt and tight black pants, she turns to Ben's jacket that sat on a rock. She walks over taking it in her hands, putting it on. She feels one pocket is heavy, reaching in she sees Ben's saber. She throws it into the fire, but it's stopped by Luke.

   "A Jedi's weapon deserves more respect," Luke tells her.

   "I'm not a Jedi, Master Skywalker," she responds.

   "What are you doing?"

   "I'm not going to become what Palpatine wants. I won't let that happen. I'm never leaving this place. I'm doing what you did."

   "I was wrong. It was fear that kept me here. What are you most afraid of?"

   "My-myself," she stutters.

   "Because you're a Palpatine." Y/n looks at him surprised. "Leia knew it, too. When she first met you. I did as well, that's why I did everything I did."

   "She didn't tell me. But she still brought me to you."

   "Because she saw your spirit. Your heart. Y/n. Some things are stronger than blood. Confronting fear is the destiny of a Jedi. Your destiny. If you don't face Palpatine it will mean the end of the Jedi. And the world will be lost. There's something my sister would want you to have." Luke leads her to a hut and shows her Leia's saber.

   "Leia's saber," wouldn't she want Ben to have this?"

   "It was the last night of her training. Leia told me that she had sensed the agony of her son at the end of her Jedi path. She surrendered her saber to me and said that one day it will be picked up again by someone who would finish her journey. 1,000 generations live in you and Ben. But this is your fight. You'll take both sabers to Exegol." Luke hands her both of the sabers.
