"About your investigation appointment yesterday..." Mrs. Winstead started. "Was a bit... interesting to say the least. Isaiah I'm going to ask you a few questions and I want you to answer them honestly, okay?"
I looked down at the marbled floor of her office and quickly said "Yes." What was so interesting about it? It seemed quick, and simple.
"When you get home from school where physically do you lounge about during the day?" She asked face full of concern. Somethin' he wrote made her ask me this question. He must've took notice when he came and found me in my corner. Couldn't really blame him on that one I guess. But what the hell am I to say? If I said the right thing this could get worse, if i said the wrong thing who knows what'll happen to me? I don't know if I'm willing to handle anymore right now.
"I'm usually lounging about in the kitchen's corner, if not there I'm on the couch." I lied trying to save the evil witch's face and my ass as well.
"When the investigator pulled up he took a note that you were outside doing chores, does Nathaniel have to do chores too?"
"No."
Had no problem telling the truth about that one.
