Trust is a double-edged sword because it has the ability to heal or tear you apart. It is the very foundation of any relationship, and a crack in its surface can bring the whole thing crumbling down. It doesn't take much to destroy it, just a nagging suspicion or perhaps an indiscretion. Once it is broken, all the glue in the world can't make it whole again, much like 'Humpty Dumpty.
