Chapter 22

Lay's pov

Finally after a few months I've been in China, now I'm back! Korea seems like my hometown now. Since my schedule back to Korea revealed, so I have to go through the fans and gladly its under control. Now I'm in the car on my way back to SM building to settle some things before head to dorm. I've to sort things out about my work and my Ai Lin. I scroll through her instagram and she look so happy in all of her post. I'm glad she live well and doesn't have to struggle like me. If she decide to follow me to be a trainee, maybe we couldn't be together and I hate to see her struggle in order to debut. About Chanyeol's messages! I have to sort it out too. I have to ask him about that date. It's sounds so sudden if I ask him through the phone. "Yixing, we arrived.", I lock my phone and immediately exit the car walking to the office. As I arrived, I knock on the door and the person inside the office allow me to enter his office. "Hyung!", I greet him with a wide smile. "Owh! Yixingah! You're back!", we greet each other by bro hug. He ask me to take a sit on the comfy sofa. "So, how's your tour in China? Everything alright?", he ask. "Good! I already preparing for the next tour.", I give him an assurance to make him feel good. "I'm here because I want to ask you a favor.", I have to be straight forward and he chuckle since he actually expected that. "I knew it! You will ahead to dorm usually after landed.", he say. "You know me too well hyung.", I chuckle and both of us burst into laughter. "Just say it Yixingah... You already work hard these days.", he take a sip of coffee that his secretary sent just now. "Can I add one more country for my tour?", I ask straight to him. "What? You want what?", hyung ask again to confirm what he heard just now. I take a deep breath before repeating myself. "Please add one more country for my tour.", I change my words to a favor words. He put the cup on the table and chuckle. "More work, more profit. Why not? Where you want to go?", he ask again. "Malaysia.", I say it confidently as I can see the potential for the favor to turn out to be yes. "Well, I can help you with that but why?", he curious. "It's been awhile since I meet the fans there. Also, don't you think we always skipped that country before this?", I say with my arm fold and my leg crossed. "Hmm. Good idea but if there are interview, do you want to do it?", he asked. I nodded as a sign of agreement. "Okay, I will settle everything and I will inform you later.", he say as he stand up and stick out his hand for a hand shake. I stand up with a smile on my face and reply his hand shake.

"Hyung! Finally you are back!", Sehun hug me tightly. I feel suffocated enough with this boy. He is just a maknae if he is with us but not if there are hoobaes around. "Are you, okay? You are so active today.", I ask and chuckle with his behavior. "He just drink too many bubble tea. High sugar.", Suho said. Sehun should lessen his love to bubble tea. "Where is Chen and Baekhyun?", I ask as I scan the practice room. Everybody is here except them. "Chen is out for a date. Baekhyun... Maybe he went to toilet.", Chanyeol said. Chen on a date? I'm not surprise tho. He stay with his girlfriend for almost 10 years now. His girlfriend really understanding and loyal to him. They started dating even before our debut. She always come and see us. She really nice and Chen is so lucky to have her in his life. Will I become like him one day? I hope so. Then, someone enter the room and all of us turn to that person. "What? Why all of you look at me like that? Don't scare me like that.", all of us laugh in union. Baekhyun look so terrified just now because we went silent all of sudden and stared at him. "Hyung, welcome back!", he tap my shoulder a few times. "Where were you from?", I ask but he suddenly look so shy. Am I asking a wrong question? What's wrong with him? "I don't think he went to toilet.", Chanyeol said. Bakhyun rub her nape with the shy look obviously appeared on his face. "What? Am I missing something here?", I ask as ,the other member look so suspicious while I look so dumb here. "He called his girlfriend.", Kyungsoo said with his eyes still stuck at his phone. "What? You dated? Why all of you don't tell me? Wah! Our Baekhyun has grown up!", I put my arm around his shoulder. He just smile and chuckle. "Hyung, we just a year apart. Don't say like that!", Baekhyun pout. I messed his hair because he look cute. How a playful and childish like him can be serious on this matter? At least he look so happy with his life now. The girl sure a lucky person to have Baekhyun but I still can't imagine how Baekhyun behave in front of his girlfriend. Then, Kasper enter the room and greet us. We are preparing for our comeback and he is the choreographer again this time. "Okay, guys. Should we start?", he ask and the vibe in the room feel so energetic since it's been awhile we had a comeback as 9. So, we start practice the dance without Chen. Chen will join the next session since he already know the steps beforehand.

I want to ask Chanyeol about his date with Ai Lin. So, I knock on his door before he give the permission for me to come in. I open the door and take a peek at him. He still work on his song. He love to composed songs but he not ready for it to be released. He is just one of talented person that I ever met. "Are you busy?", I ask him. "Not really. Why, hyung?", he turn to me who still at the door holding the doorknob. "Let's have a drink with me. I have something to ask.", I invited. "Okay. Give me 10 minutes.", he accepted. "I wait you in my car, okay?", I tell him and he show me the okay sign. I close the door. I hope I can solve all puzzle in my head tonight.

We arrived at a cafe and we went to the 2nd floor since nobody was there. We take a seat near the windows since the scenery look so pretty tonight. We ordered a slice of cake and two iced americano. "Wow! Tonight is so pretty.", Chanyeol start to take picture with his phone. He seems likely to post it in his Instagram and bubble after this. "By the way, hyung. What do you want to ask me.", he ask me put his phone on the table and take a sip of the coffee. I feel nervous to ask this but I have to. I took a deep breath before asking him. "Do you remember when you ask me about your date?", I ask carefully. "What? Which one?", he ask me like he has been to a date multiple time tho. "The one that your parents set up for you.", I explain. He frowned as he try to remember about what the date that I talking about and he nod his head. "Yes, I remember. Why, hyung?", he ask me. Gladly he still remember about it. This will make things easier. "How was the date? It went well?", I ask as I take a sip on my drink. "Owh! The date was cancelled.", he said. "What? Why?", I shocked. I don't expect it. If he said that this has something with the collaboration between his parent and her parent's business, that's mean the collaboration also failed. "Owh! I heard that the girl refuse to do so and leave the house.", she did what? She leave the house? The puzzle getting harder to reunite them. "So, how about the collaboration? It was failed?", I ask again. "Oh! It still goes on because my parent ask me to go on that date because her parent insisted but actually they already planned to help and collaborate.", he explained. So, she leave the house because she hate the idea of her being set up on the date. She must feel so horrible. I remembered how she always told me that she was lonely before she meet me. She always say that she feel like her parents hate her because they don't have time for her. She only have a sister which was her babysitter and her babysitter. Her babysitter was so nice to me and she always make me food when I come over. She must be living through hell. It's all my fault. I should just stay by her side and went through all hardship together but I wasn't. Ai Lin, whenever you are, I will find you and I will fulfill our promise.
