— "I'VE ALWAYS KNOWN  you were a big softie.", Meredith bumped her fist against Draco's arm.

The young man rolled his eyes and kept walking down the corridor.

"I mean, what you did was amazing and I just know that you're going to be the couple of the year. I just know.", she jumped behind him.

"Who?", Draco asked lowly, making the girl smile widely.

"You and Ella, of course. Can you imagine that?", the blonde man stopped walking to look at her.
Meredith hid a rainbow behind her eyes, because she let out a dreamy sigh.

"Want me to remind you how she was with you when Henry shot that spell at you?", Draco's brows furrowed at her words.

"Henry?"

Meredith tilted her head to the side and looked at him.

"You mean Harry—"

"I know who I'm talking about, Drac."

"Drac?—"

"Oh hush. Remember how jealous she was when you were with your cousin. And she didn't know she was your cousin.", she let her finger brush against the skin beside her eye, as if she was wiping off a fake tear. "Golden days."

"Oh, oh! I know that was when—"

"— we took a break, yes.", Draco rolled his eyes and started walking again.

His last words left something lingering in the air, maybe some type of discomfort or pain. Silence immediately followed afterwards.

"All of these situations have one thing in common, Draco...", Meredith lightly tugged the sleeve of his uniform.

"You have always found a way to each other.", Draco looked back at her, noticing the slight sadness falling on her features.

"It makes me sad, sometimes, you know? I love seeing people being happy. You being sad, makes me sad."

"Sometimes, you have to do the wrong things for the right reason.", Draco lowly said, his eyes keeping the contact with hers.

"Sometimes, not always.", the girl reminded him carefully.

"Sometimes.", he repeated the word and then left her alone in the corridor.

"Heard the news, mate?", Joebell asked her friend and elbowed his stomach. The guy spat the piece of potato on the table.

"Ew, that's disgusting, Benjamin.", Lisa, a girl he had quite the crush on, suddenly said. The boy blushed and glared at Joebell.

"The weird ice thing at Knockturn Alley? They finally managed to break it down.", she said, her mouth full of potatoes as well.

"What does that have to do with me?", Joebell rolled her eyes at her friend's words. She folded the newspaper she was holding and slapped it on his head.
