Scared *Muffy*

"TJ, I'm scared,"Marty said.

"It's gonna be fine,"TJ said.

"But what if she doesn't accept me,"Marty said.

"She will,"TJ said,"You know she's an ally."

"I know,"Marty said,"But what if she doesn't."

"Marty,"TJ said,"I talked to Cyrus okay. He knows that she won't care about anything like that."

Marty was still nervous.

"But even if she does accept me. My family that's coming over don't know. We haven't talked to them in years,"Marty started.

"Your parents support you, you know that. Even if the rest of your family don't accept you, you have your parents and your sister,"TJ said,"And you'll always have me."

"Thanks TJ,"Marty said.

He noticed Buffy and Cyrus walking towards them.

"Hey,"TJ said greeting them both before wrapping his arms around Cyrus's waist.

Marty smiled.

"So, were going to this party you're parents are throwing for your sister,"Buffy asked.

"Yeah, she's having a baby,"Marty said.

"Wait, then why are TJ and I invited,"Cyrus asked.

"TJ and my sister have always been close. He's practically a brother to her,"Marty said.

As they started walking TJ led Cyrus farther in front of Buffy and Marty.

"Look Buffy, I have to tell you something,"He said letting go of her hand.

"What is it Marty,"She asked.

"It's just, I know I have to tell you eventually and today you were probably going to find out anyway,"Marty said.

"Marty, you can tell me anything,"Buffy said stopping in front of him.

"Buffy, I'm,"Marty stuttered but he couldn't finished.

"I know Marty,"Buffy said.

"What,"Marty said looking up at her.

"I know that you didn't always look like you,"Buffy said,"That you didn't use to express yourself like this."

"But how did you,"Marty started.

"The track team coach, I was talking to her about how you would be great on the boys team but she said you would have to join the girls,"Buffy said.

Marty lowered his head.

"That's why I never really joined the team until I got my name and gender changed legally,"Marty said,"I'm sorry for not telling you Buffy. I was just scared that you would hate me."

"I could never hate you Marty,"Buffy said,"I don't care about that. I like the real Marty."

Marty hugged Buffy.

She hugged back.

"I told you that you had nothing to worry about,"TJ said as he and Cyrus stood watching them.

"C'mon then, I want to meet your family,"Buffy said.

Marty smiled happily.

The four made their way to Marty's house.

Once they arrived Marty led them to the backyard where the party was happening.

"I have to see my sister first, the party is for her,"Marty said,"Then we can go meet my parents."

Buffy nodded and Marty led her over.

"Marty,"A girl exclaimed once she saw him as the two hugged.

She looked just like Marty.

"Hey Jess,"He said,"This is Buffy."

"Ahh, the girlfriend I've heard so much about but have yet to meet,"His sister, Jess, said.

"It's nice to meet you. And congradulations,"Buffy said.

"Thank you,"Jess said.

"Have you seen mom and dad,"Marty asked.

"I think they're over that way,"Jess said pointing,"Tell TJ he better come say hi to me."

"I will Jess,"Marty said grabbing Buffy's hand and leading her to where Jess had pointed.

He spotted his parents amongst the crowd.

They were talking to one of his aunts.

"So, where's your other daughter,"His aunt asked.

"Hmm,"His mother replied.

"Well, I've seen Jess but where's Mackenzie,"His aunt asked.

"Mom,dad"Marty said as he and Buffy got to his parents.

"Oh, Marty,"His mother greeted.

"Who is this,"His aunt asked.

"This is our son,"His father said.

"What,"His aunt asked.

"Catherine,"His father started.

"This is Mackenzie,"His aunt questioned.

Marty winced at the sound of his dead name.

Buffy gripped onto his hand.

"Oh, you must be Marty's new girlfriend. It's so nice to finally meet you,"His mother said turning to Buffy.

Buffy smiled back to her.

"Oh, so she's gay now,"Catherine asked.

"I'm not gay, I'm trans Aunt Catherine,"Marty said.

"You can't be okay with this. It's wrong,"Catherine said to his parents,"Mackenzie, well she clearly needs some help."

"Get out,"Jess said.

They turned around to find her.

"What,"Catherine exclaimed.

"I said get out. I don't want you here,"Jess said.

Catherine looked around at them before stomping away.

Marty was shaking and Buffy held onto him tightly.

Marty's parents and Jess engulfed him into a big hug.

"It's okay,"Jess said holding her brother tightly.

"Honey, we're always here for you,"His mother said.

"Thank you,"Marty said.

"I'm sorry your girlfriend had to see that,"His father said,"We won't be talking to my sister again."

Marty grabbed onto Buffy's hand again.

Buffy leaned over to whisper in his ear.

"I really like your family,"She said quietly.

Marty smiled before kissing her cheek.
