"Will you stay by my side?"

"Evermore,"

2 years later...

"Jungsoo," I called out her name ever so softly as she fell asleep on my arms once again as I rocked her, patting her back, placing soft kisses on her forehead every once in a while.

"Jungkook!" I heard my wife suddenly call to me from the kitchen, I stopped pacing back and forth in the living room as I rocked Jungsoo in my arms the way to the kitchen to which I saw her cooking our lunch. As soon as I came in the kitchen I lifted my finger up to my mouth at her, signaling to her of the sleeping princess in my arms.

She understood as she smiled and came up to me, taking the one in my arms to which I couldn't help but have pouted at, she looked back at my pouting state as she chuckled while rocking Jungsoo in her arms.

"Go call Jungwoo, it's time to eat," She mouthed towards me, trying her best to keep it quiet for the sleeping princess.

I simply nodded at that as I gave her and the little one in her arms a peck before leaving to get Jungwoo.

"Jungwoo~" I called out to him as I opened his bedroom door.

"Time to eat-" I paused as I looked around his room as I didn't see him on his play corner building his new lego set and so I looked out the hallway again.

"Jungwoo?" I called out again but no response.

"Aish, he's always going off somewhere," I said to my self as I couldn't help but reminisce of those times where he used to run off from his mother and came to find me... I let out a chuckle at that but then immediately took the smile off my face as soon as I heard sniffling from the end of the hall?

More particular, from the door that led me to the library, from there I heard sniffling, his sniffling...

I came up and opened the door in front of me only to see a small figure gazing at the small gallery of us on the corner, looking at each and every single one of us.

Why is he here?

As I took a step, a creak was heard from stepping on the loose flooring which caused the small one to suddenly shoot his head toward my direction, giving me a view of his crying state.

I couldn't help but felt my heart crush at that as I immediately came up to him and hugged his small figure while sitting on the floor.

"Jungjung, what's wrong?" I asked, concerned but he only took his head from over my shoulder and looked up at the pictures, more in particular, his little sister's pictures.

"Why are there so many pictures of her as a baby... but none of me? It's all just me, grown-up..." He managed to let out through his continuous choking from crying.

The question took me aback, should I tell him? His small toddler mind at the time must've forgotten that I wasn't there for him in the beginning... but he's grown up now, going to kindergarten now, maybe he's already old enough to understand...

"Well, Jungwoo, I wasn't there with you... when you were born..." I let out truthfully toward him, trying to make the words calm as possible to make it easier for him but it seems that didn't help as he'd suddenly dropped his head down, obviously quite upset...

I only stared at his upset figure, trying to see what I could say to lighten his mood up a bit... but I guess there all I can do now is tell him the truth...

"So I wasn't there for you in the beginning," I continued as it only made him keep his head down.

"But at least I'm here for you now," I then let out as I saw him suddenly shoot his head up at me, confused. I only smiled at his reaction as I took my hand and caressed his head from behind.

"And I will be there for you, from now on, and always," I reassured him which was what caused the sudden sparkle to appear in his eyes.

"I may not have been there for you in the beginning but what matters most is that I am now here, I am still here and I will always be here... until the end-..." I paused as I felt the one in my arms suddenly hug me back, he lifted his head back up at me giving me a clear view of the tears that began trickling down his face but this time...

They were happy tears...

"Boys! Time to eat!" We suddenly heard my wife scream from downstairs. I chuckled as I imagined how pissed she could've been to keep her waiting. I picked the little one in my arms and fixed his pants as they sat on the still dusty floor of the once-abandoned library.

"Go downstairs, tell your Eomma I'll be down in a second," I let out to the small one as he simply nodded.

I watched him run off as I chuckled at the way he took a small stumble on the way out, when he completely left the room I found myself standing up and gazing at the gallery in front of me, admiring it myself.

Admiring my... family...

Admiring each and every one of them, gazing at Jungsoo to Jungwoo, and then her...

"I will be there for you all... evermore," I unconsciously let out to the painting, as if I was actually telling them...

I flinched when I suddenly felt a pair of arms wrap around my waist from behind but as soon as I saw a marriage ring on the hand I calmed down as I kept my gaze on the painting, smiling, not needing to turn around to look to see who it was, already knowing it was her...

"We will always be there for you too," She calmly said ever so softly.

I only smiled at that as I took her left hand into my grip and brought it up to my lips, kissing the area where her marriage ring was.

"I know..."
