Cara walked down the stairs, her hands shaking as tears spilled out her eyes. Her boots thumped against the hardwood floor as she walked through the hallway leading to her bedroom. She shuts her bedroom door closed as she walks inside before immediately dropping to the floor.

Her sobs echoed throughout her room as she leaned against the door. Her hands immediately fly up to her neck, squeezing it as her sobs grow louder and louder. Her face clenches in pain as her hands wrap tighter but she makes no effort to stop

She pulls her body to the corner of the room, slowly rocking back and forth as her sobs quiet down. Soon, she stops crying and stares emotionless at her bed. Her eyes flicker to the series of pictures displayed on her dresser, varying from pictures of her to her mother.

She shakily gets on her knees, pulling her body up as she stares at the half empty bottle of vodka standing on her nightstand. She approaches it, picking the bottle up and lifting it to her view. She remains silent, only looking down at the bottle before letting out a shaky sigh.

She lays the bottle down on her bed, her eyes immediately flickering to her bag which was placed just by the end of her bed. She picks it up and zips it open revealing the ocean of gum wrappers and old receipts from late night trips to the convenience store. She can't help but chuckle as memories flood her mind. The times when she would pick up a burrito right before a boxing match. or the times when she would buy a cheap beer and chat with strangers

She rummages through her bag, taking out the half empty bottle of pills which she hasn't touched in days. Her hands glide against the bottle before placing it inside her pocket. She rummages through her bag once more before bringing out her nearly empty box of cigarettes and a lighter. It's been awhile since she had a smoke

Cara lifts the box to her lip, placing her lips against the side of the box. "I missed you" she mumbled before slipping the box and lighter in her pocket. Luckily, she chose to wear loose jeans meaning the items weren't bulging out her pockets.

She stands up from her place on the bed, picking up the bottle of vodka along with her. Her feet softly patter across the floor as she makes her way out the room. Before she could step out, the polaroids that were stuck on her mirror caught her eye.

Her fists clench momentarily before turning back around and heading toward her dresser. Her hands reach for the pictures and she brings them closer, looking at them with a sad smile. Younger versions of her and her siblings smile back at her making her shiver

She slips the photos into her pocket before pulling the drawer open, bringing out a pad of paper. Her hands reach for a pen from the holder situated just inches from her. she lets out a shaky sigh before bringing the pen down on the paper,

Please, keep fighting. Save the world for me.

I love you all...

-Cara

Cara drops the pen on the dresser, letting out a sigh before folding the paper up and slipping it in the pocket of her jacket. She slowly stands up, bringing the bottle with her and walks out of her bedroom and into the hallway. She briefly looks around before quietly walking away in the direction of the bathroom.

"Cara?" a voice calls out from behind her making her tense up. She slowly breathes in and out before turning on her heels to face them. "hey" Cara softly smiled as her eyes make contact with Diego who looked at him with a questioning gaze. She only wished that her face wasn't puffy and her eyes weren't bloodshot from all the crying just minutes ago.
