Heard From A Distance

You can feel so alone
when your person isn't here,
Sitting right across from you,
Listening to you.
You start to miss they're qualities
You fall in love with.
The way they laugh, they're smile,
The way their eyes crinkle like you said
the funniest thing to them,
When you know you said nothing.
You can hear their voice in your head
Like a vivid dream disguised as a new memory
When they tell you that they are here for you.
Like you don't know it but it gets better
The more you hold on for them.
The hope amongst physical distancing
and a list of their emails that mean more
when you imagine them saying it.
