Jenny said she wanted to pick me up instead of Ryan so I told him I'll meet him at Tyler's house. When we got there,the party had started already. They were people on the dance floor which I presume was the living room. Some were in the kitchen and the bar area. A few people were at the pool area and there were a few couples making out. I spotted Ryan talking to some of his friends. When he saw me,he waved and started moving towards me. I'm sure Jenny saw him too because she excused herself to go get a drink. I was surprised at how warm the room was despite the cold outside
"Hey"
"Hi"
"Having fun?"
"I just got here",I giggled
"Oh okay. I got here earlier."
"And is the party good?"
"I suppose"
A Christmas medley song started playing and almost everyone was singing along.
"Wanna get a drink?",he asked
"Sure"
I met some of my school mates,not that they weren't my friends or anything,but I'm a little reserved.
"Hey Ally"
"Yes Jenny"
"So who are you gonna kiss? No wait,why am I even asking? Of course it's going to be Ryan."
"What are you even talking about?"
"Well,you know,the first kiss of the new year. After the countdown,you kiss someone happy new year. "
"Oh really"
Yes. And it's said that you can spend the rest of your life with the first person you kiss on new year's day."
"And I guess that's the legend of the eternal love of a new year's kiss,"I said sarcastically.
"Oh come on. It may be true. You never know"
"If you say so."
At 11:57, people started looking for their partners apparently for the new year's kiss. There was a huge clock on the wall for the countdown. The time finally came and the countdown began.
"Ten!
Nine!
Eight!
Seven!
Six!"
I saw Ryan coming towards me with a grin on his face.
"Five!
Four!
Three!
Two!
One!
Happy New Year!!"
I felt someone's lips on mine. I smiled and kissed back. Almost everyone kissed someone after the countdown
"Happy new year", Ryan whispered in my ear
"Happy new year", I said back. But then,I realized Jenny wasn't there. Why isn't she back yet? As if she read my mind,she appeared squealing.
"Okay,I'm gonna leave you too now", Ryan said as Jenny approached super giddy.
"Guess who just kissed me"
"Who?"
"Spencer!!"She screamed
"Oh my God"
"I know right. Anyway, Happy New year"
"And many happy returns, girl",I replied.
"So tell me about it."
"I told you I was thirsty just a few minutes before the countdown started."
"Yeah..."
"So after I got some water and I was returning,I met Spencer. He said hi and I said hi. Then the countdown began."
"And when the countdown ended,he kissed you, right?"
"Yes!"
"Good for you"
"No,not good for me. What's gonna happen next? That kiss probably didn't even mean anything."
"Okay, relax and enjoy the rest of the party. You don't wanna start off your new year with drama and stress,do you?"
"I guess you're right." She sighed,"but tell me something first,who did you kiss?"
"Ryan"
"I knew it". I laughed."Ok,now let's have fun!!"
"Okay then."

I bumped into someone; Lionel. Now that I think about it,I haven't spoken to him or seen him after the break.
"Oh hi Ally. Isn't this a surprise?"
"Yeah. It's been long."
"Yup. How're you doing?"
"I'm fine. You?"
"I'm okay."
"Okay. You enjoying the party?"
"It's great."
"Yeah"
"So you and Ryan, you're together now."
"Yes,we are."
"That's nice."
"What about you? Are you seeing anyone?"
"No,I'm not seeing anyone."
I wanted to ask about Tracy but I just settled with an okay.
"So I'll see you around"
"Sure"
"Enjoy the party. And happy new year"
