I was sitting in my office, looking at some files that had been sent to me for the final check before they were sent to the CEO. To be honest, I couldn't concentrate. All I could think of was that letter that had been sent to me by my father, the same man that had rapped me and had made my life a living nightmare in both my past and present life.

He's out?!?

I hyperventilated last night, at the same time bawling my eyes out. Luckily, I quickly composed myself before it went too far, like what happened last time. I took a shower and went to bed. The nightmare I had this time was different but the concept was all the same.

I was in a forest, a deeply dense one, with the trees that were very tall, with no end. The birds were chirping and the wind was calm. It was really beautiful. I didn't want to leave that place. I actually thought that the dream would be a good one this time. I looked at myself to see that i was wearing a beautiful ground length dark green dress but I had no shoes.

Suddenly, the chirping got unbearably loud. The birds flied away and the forest was now quiet. It suddenly became night. That's when I heard him calling for me. I began to run away. The ground wasn't soft anymore, and the rocks and twigs were poking my feet, but i didn't care. I didn't want to be caught again. I was suddenly pushed to the ground, and that's when I woke up.

Nobody knew of the letter, not even Mason, and he knew everything about me. I just didn't want anyone to be dragged into this with me. What if he came to-

Buzz buzz

I took my phone and looked at it. I had a new message from an unknown number.

Could it be......

I opened the message.

Unknown: Hey, beautiful.

Oh no

Should I answer? What if it's him?

Me: Who is this?

I waited with fear and adrenaline coursing through me at a very fast rate. The person replied

Unknown: It's Max, or Mr Grant, for you. How many people greet you the way I just did?

Me: Doesn't matter. What do you want?

Unknown: A guy can't say hi to a pretty lady?;)

I just rolled my eyes and sent a quick reply saying that i was busy and that I'd talk to him later.

I took those files and began to look at them again. By lunch time, I was through them all and had sent them to the CEO. Mason opened the door and let himself in. He gave me a side hug and sat on the table in front of me.

"Vee, we have to go for lunch. I'm starving!!"

I just laughed, held onto his hand and yanked him along with me to the elevator. I chose a food shop a couple of blocks away. I felt like we were being stalked, so I walked faster and faster till I got there.

Once we had our lunch served at the table, I decided to tell him the truth, apart from the letter, which I had been keeping in my purse.

"Wow, Vee. So, you have a date with Mr Grant tomorrow?"

I sighed, and took a sip from the milkshake I'd ordered.

"Yeah..."

"Finally!! It was about time you went out! I know that this is work related to you, but it might turn into something else entirely."

I just chuckled

"I don't think so. He'll get bored and leave."

"We'll see"

I put on a pair of black jeans and a blue t-shirt with a blazer on top and a pair of converse shoes. Max had sent a message before I'd left work for me to wear something casual, and this was my idea of casual. It was almost 7pm, and to be honest, I was both nervous and excited; nervous because it was my first date and excited because I wanted to see where Max would take me. He said that it's a 'surprise'.

Mason told me to have some fun, so I decided, why not? I'll let the dude off the hook and actually try to enjoy myself, since he's gonna be paying for my dinner anyways.

I heard a knock and looked through the peephole to see Max standing there. I opened the door and we looked at each other. He surveyed my attire from bottom to the top and a small smirk played on his lips.

"I never thought you'd look beautiful in casual as you look in your formal wear."

"Thank you, Max. You don't look so bad yourself."

He was wearing all black today, black button down shirt with rolled sleeves, black jeans and black shoes.

"Did you call me Max?"

I winked

"Maybe I did."

I walked towards his car and when I was about to open the door, his hand was already at the handle.

"Madam."

I giggled

"Why, thank you, kind sir. Who knew chivalry was still alive?"

"It's only reserved for the best."

He drove us to the mystery date venue, and it was a restaurant I'd never seen before.

"It's a new restaurant I opened up with a Japanese friend of mine. We decided to call it Sushi Kyōdai, meaning the sushi brothers. Let's get in."

When I got out of the car, Max put his hand at the small of my back has he led me inside. The moment we got in, a man who seemed to be in his early twenties ushered us inside. We went up some steps to where I assumed was the VIP section.

The tables were set in a Japanese traditional fashion, and it seemed like the place was fully booked.

"Nice establishment you got here."

He just shrugged

"I try."

When we were about to sit, two people dressed in kimonos came to us

"Good evening. As the VIPs, we have kimonos for you to wear, If you'd like to."

I couldn't contain myself. Who knew when I was ever gonna wear a kimono again?

"I'd love to!"

I don't really care about what he thinks of me being so childish. I wanna have fun, even if that means that he'll never see me again. Then again, wouldn't it be good if he left?

"Well, follow me, ma'am."

I've been so busy lately, and having a huge case of writer's block. I couldn't think of a proper way to write this, but I did it!!!!!! I hope this is to your satisfaction.🍁

I just wanna say thank you for all your votes. Keep safe and lots of love.💕

Another one? Maybe later??
