Poetically Lifted

This Morning

God, this morning in my action, there is something I shouldn't have done,

It didn't bring me the satisfaction, that usually would come,

Not to mention, I was wrong to forsake my promise to you,

Please hear my conviction, once again I've forsaken truth,

Temptation is real, but I didn't have to fall,

I was sober and I could feel, but I didn't stall,

God, this morning in my action, I don't defend,

It doesn't matter why it happened, I can't do it again,

Lord I knew how dirty it was, still the thought wouldn't drop,

And I knew that I was yours, and I didn't make it stop,

I knew if I proceeded, you would be disappointed,

Lord I really didn't mean it, it's not what I wanted,

God, this morning for my action, I truly repent,

It doesn't matter why it happened, I can't do it again,
