Don't Let me Interfere

Don't let me interfere with your plans for my life,

My thoughts are far from yours and at times my heart is not right,

I've failed to acknowledge you many times, and still I'd continue on,

So regardless of the perception in my mind, let your will be done,

I've said yes to things, not discerning that you'd say no,

I've held on to things when you've said they should go,

Don't let me interfere, Lord you know me best,

Because at times what I feel, only compliments my flesh,

I've taken journeys, that I clearly could have avoided,

Not that you didn't warn me, but God I ignored it,

My perception is commonly off, sometimes I'm not in sync,

So God as I continue to walk, protect me from what I think,
