God, you know what's underneath, or better yet,

What some may see, as a disconnect,

Beneath the appearance of little concern, you see me,

Those that judge but don't discern, they couldn't possibly see,

Below the surface, you see my operation,

My lack of engagement is not on purpose, when my mind is racing,

When my heart wins but my actions fail, you see my intent,

Although assumptions would never tell, By the message I've sent,

But I can't think below this surface, and still you see underneath,

Not only who I am when I'm burdened, but who others don't see,

Down beneath the surface, you see my reactions,

If I could extend beyond this surface, I'd gladly present without crashing,

Through the clutter and the distress, you see underneath,

When I fail unintentionally, I'm not my best, but my heart, you still see,
