I was competing in the rat race,
Except I was the rat and not everyone else,
The drizzled thoughts of mine couldn't freeze like snowflakes,
The salt in the ice couldn't melt the stakes.

I visited a place, I suppose it is called the atelier,
My eyes fell on all the pretty pictures, and the shimmering chandelier,
I closed my eyes shut, dazzled by the decorum,
But your fondness caressed my scars like Eriophorum.

My emotions were glitching in colours,
Darkness eloped with me, swimming with me in my black tears,
Your craft enchanted me, Your camaraderie enthralled me,
The art I saw in your eyes curbed the older-than-humanity fears.

You asked the questions no one would,
You knew me even before anyone could,
You begged for my words as no one should,
You gave me your affection, shining like gold.

You took me in, the family I knew I never had,
You owned me like your playful, pathetic lad,
You wiped my memories in my tears, you couldn't see me sad,
Your game of Russian Roulette, the shot of love hit my face, warmer than the winds of Riyadh.

Hello, my darling, your words make me bleed,
In the colours of the rainbow, on the sepia celluloid screen,
In the glistening charm of Selene's creature I read,
In the million sunsets, in your embrace, I had seen.

Eri to my Elle,
Casting on me a spell,
Your affection is tell-tale,
To my demons who can't quell.

Upon a shrouded clear sky,
When the grains of sand hit the wreath you tie
With me to your soul,
The demons slid back into my eyes, under the kohl.

Your touch could set them on fire,
You stood upon the sooty liar,
And when you picked the ashes of my dead desires,
You dried river Styx, soothing tunes of the enliven lyre.

I did wear the sash of the winner,
I had shed and buried the old sinner,
In this transition from a cocoon to a butterfly,
I won myself a mother, in the month of July.

This is a poem about my online mother jaszthewayyoulikeit She has been supporting me since day 1. A good friend of mine told me that I am trying hard to be 2013 i-dont-have-friends- edgy(i hate that she's correct) so I went on to look for people who wouldn't disown me if I proclaim them as friends. To my surprise, I have 4 of them. I can write poems about them as well. That's what I am going to do, striking a new friendship with people who are as crazy as I am.

I started with my mother because she is my mother.

I don't hate you.

ALSO, GO CHECK OUT HER GRAPHICS SHOP. SHE IS THE BEST ONE OUT THERE. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME, SHE IS A PRO.
