21. colourful tears

If my tears are colourless, then how can it paint vivid emotions?

Colourless tears, fall on my palette
I dip my brush in them,
Hoping I could paint emotions
I never had the right to feel.

The brush swirls in the bowl
Painting fins to my memories
They fish and they hop
Then they dry on my cheeks.

My tears don’t even bother to find a path
They just trace the old ones that are still fresh
On my cheeks that once bloomed colours
Brighter than the rose garden
Now my tears are the rosewater.

I drew the stars for the nights when
You cut me open,
Saying my soul shone and glinted
But the when the blood didn’t brew your wine
You puffed me like a cigarette
Placing me on your lips,
Hoping the smoke would overpower
The bitter taste in your mouth.

I drew the valleys full of orchids
When you kissed me in places
I never thought I could feel
But when the taste grew on you
The valleys saw autumn, and never spring.

I drew lakes full of the empty shells
that make pretty bracelets
you hear the ocean whispering in your ears
that deafens my voice in fear.

I drew the birds, whose feathers I picked
to write letters to you
The ink flowed through my veins
blue and black
but the words were always sealed
behind my chapped strawberry glossed lips.

Your presence would melt me
now the wax has stuck to my face
and hardened the smile I always wore.
Even if you've grown cold,
I still smell like the sandalwood candle.

Now I sit by the windowpane
Coffee leaving stains softer than the ones on my face
The rain wiping my tears with its touch,
It made me wonder,

If we were raindrops
would our love smell like petrichor
Or screams roiling in the floods?

Till then, I'll draw a picture of you
and let my tears sign it off.

I wrote this while I was on a writing spree on nana's server. I wrote 2k+ today😭. I feel the quality deteriorates a lot but it's good exercise. Anywho, don't forget to leave votes ily❤
