Double crossing and Double dating (A Short Story)

Over the next month or two, Nishikata and Takagi said some tearful goodbyes, as not everyone got good enough grades to get into the same academy, but they promised to text. They also found an apartment, and with their parents help, furnished it and moved in. Needless to say, the teasing continued, but they were much happier.

When their first day at the academy rolled round, Nishikata and Takagi got ready to go. They were both excited. Upon their arrival, they were surprised to see Mano and Nakai, who also managed to get in, it was a pleasant surprise though. Partway through the week, they bumped into someone and started chatting. After some friendly chatting though, this new encounter started flirting with Takagi. This majorly annoyed Nishikata, who started shouting at him. They almost started fighting if the bell hadn't rung, telling them they need to get to class.

After a week of new timetables and schedules they went home for the weekend, and on the way home Nishikata realised that they had never been on a first date. Takagi called Yukari as she was known for being romantic, though she had never been in a relationship herself. She recommended a reasonably priced restaurant and they made a reservation. When that night rolled around, they arrived at the restaurant, and were once more surprised by Mano and Nakai who also went upon Yukari's recommendation. The night was turned into a double date, no doubt alleviating tons of tension. After the night ended and the duos said their goodbyes, Nishikata and Takagi began to walk home. On the way Nishikata began to chat with Takagi,

NISHIKATA: "Hey, so thank god Mano and Nakai were there huh?"

TAKAGI: "Yeah I guess, though it would have been kind of romantic..."

NISHIKATA: "Yeah, I guess you're right."
