When Halloween came around, Takagi asked Nishikata to go with her to their home town, since she was taking her little cousin trick or treating. They walked around the neighbourhood collecting candy. After about 15 minutes, Nishikata said,
NISHIKATA: "You know Takagi, you'll make a great mum one day." (Oh crap! I've said something weird again.)
TAKAGI: *blushes* "Thanks."
NISHIKATA: (Did she blush? Never mind, there is no point in bringing it up)
They passed where they used to meet up for school and Takagi said,
TAKAGI: "Nishikata wait up. Hey cuz, run home and say we'll be a minute."
COUSIN: "Okay!"
NISHIKATA: "What's up?"
TAKAGI: "Just thought we'd chat a bit in the place we used to meet up, for the nostalgia, you know?"
NISHIKATA: "Oh yeah, why did we always meet up?"
TAKAGI: "Well, when we met, and you were super kind, I started to have a crush on you then, that long ago. So when I saw you on the way to school one day, I noticed we had a similar route, so I asked if you wanted to walk home with me. You said yes, because you didn't know how much you'd get teased and after a month of just saying yes everyday, it became routine."
NISHIKATA: "Saying yes. Best choice of my life."
TAKAGI: "Aw thanks."
NISHIKATA: " Me too, but we should get back."
TAKAGI: "Yeah, you're right."
