My morning started off fine. No one I knew was in my math class, and it seemed like most of them didn't care or know who I was. Ah, the wonderful world of math nerds.

The next couple of classes were pretty mellow. Lucas didn't show up to history, which Miles informed me was normal for him. I did find it strange that he was in AP US History, an extremely advanced class, and was perfectly okay with skipping. But, I wasn't complaining about not having to come face-to-face with him.

I knew the odd peacefulness was too good to be true when I made it to lunch unscathed. Apparently, Rebecca had planned it that way. Because every good show needs an audience, right?

I was sitting at the same table as the day before with Tyler and Cole on my left, and Maya and Miles across from me. We were just talking about random stuff when a hand with hot pink acrylic nails and expensive-looking bracelets slammed down on the table.

I didn't flinch when it happened and just rolled my eyes before looking up and to my right, coming face to face with Rebecca, a scowl sporting her features.

"Can I help you?" I asked, doing my best to sound bored.

"Don't try and play dumb with me. You know what you did." She said, apparently trying to sound scary.

"Um, no not really. You came over here." I said, taking a bite of my carrot.

"Do you think you're funny? Trying to be brave in front of your new friends?" she asked, sounding amused, "what do you think they would do if I told them what you used to be like?" she asked with a smirk.

"Well I can't speak for all of us but I'd make a guess to say we'd still be her friends because unlike you, she isn't a raging bitch." Tyler spoke up from behind me.

Her jaw dropped, "What did you just call me?" She spat out.

"Look Rebecca, why did you come over here? Either spit it out or leave because I'd like to actually finish my lunch today." I said, taking her attention off Tyler.

"I came over here because you just seem to think it's perfectly okay to waltz in here and steal people's boyfriends you slut." she said, getting close to my face.

I smirked, "Awe, are you jealous of me?" I asked, antagonizing her.

Her face went red. People were intently paying attention now, whispering to each other, "Why would I ever be jealous of you? You are nothing. And you will never be anything. Just stay the fuck away from my boyfriend. Or we'll have problems." She said, trying her best at being threatening.

I quirked an eyebrow. Her words didn't affect me anymore. Two years ago they would have. But not anymore, "You should probably talk to him about your status. Because I vaguely remember him saying something about you two not being together." I said.

I could see her clenching her fists at her side. I was getting to her. She was getting fed up, "I'm not someone you want to mess with, Ariel." She said lowly.

"Yeah you've said that quite a bit. And now you've told me what you wanted to say. Stay away from Lucas. Don't worry, I want nothing to do with him. Can you leave now? I want to finish my lunch with my friends." I said, turning my attention back to the food in front of me.

She just huffed and stomped away. I sighed inwardly to myself. Even though I had promised myself I wouldn't back down anymore, that didn't mean I enjoyed everyone staring and whispering about me constantly.

"Holy fuck she's a bitch." Cole said to the table.

I smirked in agreement, "Why does she hate you so much?" Miles asked me.
