Chapter 23

MAJOR TRIGGER WARNINGS

Makoto's POV

I felt happier going to school the next day.
I'm glad Sayaka mustered up the courage to apologize.

I don't think Byakuya is going to forgive her that easily but, I'll try my best too.

I walked into the gates of school and ran into the classroom.
Ishimaru yelling at me to walk in the process.

I stepped into the classroom and realized it was only me and Byakuya In the classroom.
I walked up to him and hugged him.
"Hello Byakuya!" I said, grinning.
He smiled and pet my hair.

I sat down next to him in my usual chair and waited for class to start.

The first thing I noticed was that Sayaka wasn't there.

Where is she?

I decided I would have to ask Mukuro, since those two seem to be kind of close.

I proceeded to wait until class is over to talk to her. I told Byakuya where I was going and went off.

Mukuro was talking with Junko right outside the door so it was easy to find her.
"Hey Mukuro, may I talk to you for a second?"
Mukuro nodded and said goodbye to Junko.
Mukuro followed me around the corner.
"Have you seen Sayaka?" I asked
She gave a shocked look. "I-I couldn't find her anywhere too!" She said.
"I tried contacting her but she wouldn't answer any of my calls or messages!"
Mukuro said frantically.
Huh? Sayaka wasn't answering Mukuro?
"Listen Mukuro I'm sure it's going to be alright! She'll show up soon!"

Mukuro nodded and thanked me.
"Tell me if she calls or text you alright?" I said putting a hand on her shoulder. She nodded quickly and ran off.

I wonder where she could be.

I then started my way out of the school building. I guess I completed another day at life.
I walked into my house and dropped my bag off at the door.
I made my way up the stairs and into my room.
I then felt a wave of exhaustion hit me and I fell asleep.

I woke up the next morning by the light shining into my room. I checked the time and realized I was late. Shit!

I hurried to grab my stuff and I ran out the door.

I ran all the way to school and made it on time.

That's when i realized there was barely anyone in the hallway. Huh? That's weird.

I walked over to my classroom and opened the door.

I gasped at the site.

Everyone was in small groups hugging each other. Most of them were crying.

Byakuya noticed me and quickly ran over to me.

"Makoto! Thank god your here."
He said quickly.
"Byakuya? What's wrong...what happened?!"

"Sayaka committed Suicide."
