When Darkness Falls Pt. 2

<Colin's POV>

When I woke up it was morning. My nanites had came back on and had healed me a bit overnight. My head hurt like hell and everything ached, I let out a small groan as I looked around. I saw the group talking. 

"Ok, NOW let's talk outpost" Hiccup said, stretching. "Since you brought it up, I've been working on my designs. We'll set up look-out posts with interlocking fields of fire and-" Astrid started.

"-and never get any rest. But here, in my meditation garden..." Fishlegs started. "Neither of those is S-shaped, did you not see my design?" Snotlout snapped. I held my head and growled.

"Guys guys guys guys li-listen to me, OK, we need one idea. We can't design five different outposts-" Hiccup said, just to be cut off again, I growled.

"Maverick, fire" I ordered, Maverick took out the Chaingun and fired into the air. I stood up, holding my side with the hand that wasn't too numb. "Finally...You all shut up...My god Hiccup how do you deal with them?" I asked.

"I mean...Their not always like this" He responded, I rubbed my head. "Now...All of your arguing like fucking 5 year olds is giving me a worse headache...And as Hiccup said we can't just design several outp-" I paused, getting a idea.

"Or can we?..." I asked, smirking a bit. "Uh...What?" Hiccup asked. "Well..The island IS big, and we have plenty supplies. So..How about we either make several designs and vote..Or build a mix of all designs" I responded. "GOOD IDEA PILOT....MAKING NOTE, PROBABILITY OF COLIN BECOMING A TEAM LEADER INCREASED" Maverick said.

"That's...Actually not bad" Mark said. "Why thank you" I responded. "So, you know what? Boar pit, great idea!" I told Ruff. "S-Shaped?...Uh...Sure, I guess" I told Snotlout.

"Really, what are you up to?" Astrid asked. "Nothing, just trying to keep the troops happy. You know what they say, uh, happy troops are, uh, happy...groups...? Hey, uh, speaking of troops, Ruff, where is Tuff?"

"Don't ask me! All I know is that this boar pit is not gonna dig itself." She responded. I sighed and sat down everything hurt anyway. "Alright"

Hiccup sat with me and smiled. "Thanks" He said. "For what?" I asked with a wink. Afterall he was probably gonna say the same thing.

I smiled and leaned against him. "How are you feeling? Any better?" He asked. "A bit...I feel strange..Too.." I responded.

"Strange? How so? And what even happened last night? You walked off for a few hours then Tuff is running in carrying you as you were knocked out and bleeding out" he asked.

"I...Dunno, I went out. Fell asleep against a tree for a bit..Then something attacked me, bit my neck. Slashed me and I passed out...I guess either Tuff fought it off, or it left me to die" I responded. "Well, your safe now" he said with a smile.

After a moment I rested my head on his shoulder. "C-Could..You pet me like last night?" I asked, blushing a bit. "Sure" He responded as he moved a hand to my head and pet me. I smiled and relaxed. I dunno why I like it..It's just..Nice?...Normally I would be hesitant to give someone a hug..But...Now I'm letting him pet me.

<Hiccup's POV>

As I pet Colin I smiled. He's..Pretty cute, I guess.

"Do you hear that, Colin? That's the sound of peace and quiet. You know, making them work together might be the best idea you've ever had here" I whispered to him, he smiled more.

"Uh, excuse me? My rock!" I heard Snotlout say, I sighed and looked up. I spoke too soon.

"Huh, how do you figure?" Fishlegs asked.
