Beliefs regarding Allah Ta'ala

~Allah Ta'ala is the only deity and He alone is worthy of worship. [1]

~Before the creation of the entire universe, everything was non-existent, besides Allah Ta'ala. Allah Ta'ala then created everything from a state of non-existence. Besides Allah Ta'ala, no one else has the power to create any creation or give life and death. [2]

~Allah Ta'ala does not have any partner, wife or family. He has not begotten anyone (i.e. no child was born to Him), nor was He begotten (i.e. He was not born to any father). [3]

~Allah Ta'ala is not dependent on any of the creation, and the entire creation, at every moment, is entirely dependent on Him alone for their existence, continuity and all their needs. [4]

~Allah Ta'ala is alive. He has existed since eternity and will remain for eternity. Allah Ta'ala does not have any beginning or end. [5]

~There is nothing that resembles Allah Ta'ala in His being and attributes. He is completely unique in his zaat (being) and sifaat (attributes), and there is nothing that can equal or be compared to Allah Ta'ala. Hence, Allah Ta'ala does not have a colour, shape or a form, as is the condition of the creation. [6]

~Allah Ta'ala is not restricted to space or time. Rather, He is the Creator of space and time. [7]

~Allah Ta'ala is all-powerful and has knowledge of everything. There is nothing that is hidden from His knowledge. [8]

~He is free of all blemishes, weaknesses, limitations and defects. He is absolutely perfect in all His qualities. Allah Ta'ala is free from the qualities of the creation. [9]

~All the qualities of Allah Ta'ala are with Him from eternity and will remain with him for eternity.[10]

~Whenever the Quraan or Hadith mentions any quality of Allah Ta'ala which the creation possesses e.g. Allah Ta'ala hearing, seeing, becoming pleased, or Allah Ta'ala creating Hazrat Aadam (alaihis salaam) with His hand, etc. then all these qualities will be understood in accordance to the majesty of Allah Ta'ala , and will not be resembled to the qualities of the creation in any way.[11]

~Allah Ta'ala does not sleep nor does slumber overtake Him. Allah Ta'ala does not eat, drink or require any form of sustenance, as is the condition of the creation. He never becomes tired of maintaining and sustaining the entire universe.[12]

~Allah Ta'ala is recognized through His signs in His creation. No person can see Allah Ta'ala in this world nor comprehend the full might, power and knowledge of Allah Ta'ala.[13]

The manner in which Allah Ta'ala deals with creation

~Allah Ta'ala is most merciful to His servants. He is extremely loving, tolerant and forebearing. He is the One who forgives sins and accepts repentance.[14]

~Allah Ta'ala is completely just. He does not oppress any creation to even the extent of an atom.[15]

~Allah Ta'ala has given man an understanding and the ability to choose between good and evil. Allah Ta'ala becomes pleased with those believers who carry out good deeds for His pleasure, and becomes displeased with those who commit sins.[16]

~Allah Ta'ala is the Possessor of absolute honour and greatness. Allah Ta'ala has complete power over everything, and nothing can influence His power and decision. He bestows honour to whomsoever He wishes, and causes disgrace to whomsoever He wishes. Allah Ta'ala does whatever He wishes and is not answerable to any of the creation. [17]
