(Amaryllis's POV)

"How was your weekend?"

"Uneventful really. How about you?"

"It was....the same. I didn't do anything whatsoever. Cleaned around the house a bit, but that's it." Doris said.

Doris works with me at the coffee shop. I've been working at the coffee shop ever since they put it in. Why the Rockwell's needed a full coffee shop on the bottom floor of their company building is something I don't think I'll ever know.

The Rockwell's are one of the wealthiest business families in United States. They do all sorts of business and have their hand in every kind of business you can think of.

The coffee shop gets business from all of their employees as well as normal people off the street who are just looking for some coffee or to catch a glimpse at any of the Rockwell's.

Some of the Rockwell family loves media attention. They have no issue letting paparazzi takes pictures or people gawking at them. The others are rarely ever seen in the media. The only daughter and the oldest son are the two who are rarely seen. It is said that they like to keep their lives private and would rather have the public not judge them.

I don't even know what they look like. I'm sure they've come by for some coffee, but I tend to keep to myself and not say or ask to much. Some people who work in the company can be a bit....mean. They think they are above us since our job is to make them coffee.

"What can I get for you today?" Doris asked.

I glanced up to a see a man in a suit staring at the menu.

"Large black coffee."

"Anything else?"

He rolled his eyes. "If there was then I would've told you."

I gripped the cup in my hand tightly. Just because I kept to myself doesn't mean I never got the urge to throw a cup of coffee in their faces for being rude. I got the urge all the time. I just held myself back because I need the job and I have a feeling that throwing coffee on customers is a no-no.

A few more hours went by before Doris and I got our break. We each got a cup of coffee and went to sit at one of the small tables. It was there that we were blessed with overhearing a woman's conversation.

"He won't have a choice. Mother and father will not give up until we are married and neither will I. I mean, how could he not want to marry me? He hasn't even seen me naked yet."

Doris about choked on her coffee as I rolled my eyes.

"No, he is not. He is just picky and indecisive. Maybe once he looks over everything and thinks about it then he will call me. Him and the company will get a whole lot more money once we are married. It is part of the deal. Of course, I will get a majority of that money since we will be married."

"Amor numni." I muttered.

"What does that mean?" Doris asked.

"Lover of money."

"Now what makes you say that?" She teased and I rolled my eyes again.

"Exactly. I'm at the company now. I came to see him, but he is out of town on business. I even wore one of my best dresses. The one that really shows off the boobs I got for my eighteenth birthday. His secretary would not tell me what day he is going to be back. His mother does not know either. Apparently when he travels, only a few people know and none of them will tell me. I know he doesn't like the public knowing about his private life, but as his future fiancée I should be one to know."

"I'm going to go. If I hear anymore, my head will explode. You coming?" I said as I stood up.

"No, I wanna hear how this end. Want to know her next moves."

"Why?"

"So if I have a chance of figuring out who this poor man is then I can warn him and help him escape."

I chuckled. "Well enjoy."

The rest of the day passed by slowly and that woman stayed at the same table for six hours watching the lobby area. Doris said she heard the woman say that she was going to wait there in case the man returned from his trip and showed up. She ordered four more lattes and a bottle of water while she waited. Each time, she was rude as hell. I wanted to reach across the counter and slap her.

I truly felt sorry for whoever it was that landed on her radar and I hoped that he would get away freely without having to deal with her. Although, I'm guessing he won't be that lucky.

(Lincoln's POV)

"Hey, man."

"Hey."

"Some rich bitch showed up at the office looking for you today."

I groaned. "Priscila Cabot, I assume?"

"Yep. She was wearing a dress and her boobs were about to f*cking pop out. Apparently she is not aware that we are men of natural women, not factory made." Vick said and I chuckled.

"It gets better." Tony added.

"Then I get a call from your mother asking where we are. I knew damn well that the Barbie bitch probably called her, so I didn't tell her shit either."

I groaned. "I f*cking hate them. Why can't I just live my life? Why can't I pick who I want to marry? What is wrong with that?"

"Are you going to marry her?"

"F*ck no! I ain't touching that bitch with a twenty foot pole. You can have her."

"I don't f*cking want her. Like I said, I prefer my women naturally made and with a lot more meat on their bones." Vick exclaimed causing Tony to die with laughter.

I shook my head and stood up. "I am going to bed. We have four meetings tomorrow, so get some sleep."

"Yes, sir. Goodnight."

"Night."

I checked my phone as I laid down in bed and instantly got a headache looking at my missed messages and phone called.

I deleted them all without opening them and put my phone on the nightstand. This is why I love out of town business meetings. I can escape from all the pain in the asses and enjoy my free time.

If I had only listened to dad then I would not be in this position in the first place.
