Krell's Ex Padawan

Chapter 6

Eve's POV
I sprinted down the hallway. I felt like I was walking on air.
Up ahead I saw Captain Gram hurrying down the hallway. When he saw me he looked incredibly worried.
I grinned at him and covered the distance.

"Commander?"
"He's dead, Gram."

It took him a second to process this. Then I saw his shoulders relax.

"Krell is-"
I cut him off by grabbing his hand.
"Come on! We have to tell the others!"
"R-right."

He sounded stunned.
I punched his shoulder.

"What was that for?"
"Just making sure you knew this is real."

He laughed.

"Now come on!"

We raced down the hall still hand in hand.
As we got to the first hiding spot Gram released my hand.

In the back of my mind somehow that was strange but I was so giddy with excitement I ignored it.

"It's ok guys! You can come out!"

"Commander?"
I heard a timid voice call out. I immediately recognized the voice as one of the new shinies.

"It's ok! I have news for all of you. Please come out!"

Slowly they all appeared.
They seemed to notice how happy we were and Gram got a few questioning looks.

Out of the corner of my eye I saw him shake his head quickly.

Weird.

"I am happy to announce that General Krell is dead!"

There was a stunned silence. A few looked over my shoulders as if expecting him to appear.

My smile must've told them that it was the truth because they erupted into cheers.

Then they dog piled on-top of me in celebration. I was laughing harder than I ever have.

The other people came from the hiding spots to see what was going on.

When they saw us all piled on then ground they  knew what had happened and joined the celebration.

In the excitement I almost forgot about our visitors.
Almost.
