Chapter 6

I looked down from the roof top, taking in the streets below, before throwing out my hands, reaching for the very limit of my power. A ripple went out as one by one the aliens began to disappear. I looked up at Thor, who nodded raising his hammer, channeling the lighting from the storm clouds that gathered. I made a waving motion with my hand and aliens began to appear in the sky around him. Thor sent the lightning outward, electrocuting them before they could hit the ground.

I let out a sigh as I lowered my hands, before spinning around and shoving the blade of my sword into the chest of advancing Chitauri, kicking it off the building and into the streets below where the hulk finished it off. I looked around for another foe to take down, teleporting next to Hawkeye, and drawing my bow just as Tony flew into the mouth of one the flying whales, coming out the other end.

" I thought he was smart." I said, and Barton shook his head, firing off an arrow." You learn to just roll with it, Alice." He told me, just as he ran out of arrows, swinging his bow as an alien crawled up in front of us. I shot it in the face, as he went to grab an arrow off the ground behind us. We both turned as a group of aliens flew passed, shooting at the roof where we were standing. I was about to teleport, when I was launched backwards. I let out a cry, before the air was knocked from my chest as arms wrapped around me, and I went flying through a nearby window.

" Ouch." I groaned, before looking up to find Barton lying on the ground next to me. " You good?" I asked.

" Yeah." He said, wincing in pain, and I sat up with gritted teeth trying to avoid getting cut by the broken glass around us. " I'm getting to old for this." He said, and I rolled my eyes.

" Your not that old." I told him, and he gave me a look, before we both began to laugh.

 " I can close it." Natasha called out. " Can anybody copy? I can shut the portal down"

" Do it." Steve said.

" No, wait."

" Stark, these things are still coming."

" I've got a nuke coming in. Its gonna blow in less then a minute."

I shared a look with Barton, before we both went over to the window, just as Stark flew passed." Tony." I muttered, watching as he disappeared through the portal. A moment later, all the Chituari shut down. Steve waited another moment for Tony to reappear, before giving the order to close the portal, but just a second before it snapped closed, Tony fell through.

Once we were back on the helicarrier, Loki was put back in his cell, and the Tesseract was locked up. I had just sat down at the table on the bridge, when my phone started to go crazy. It was Peter.

I thought he would be upset with me, but instead he was more worried and curious, especially after I had finished telling him the whole story, starting with all the things I had kept from him in the past two weeks.

" So, when are you coming home?"

" I honestly have no idea, Pete. There's still a lot to do here." I responded.

" Well, keep me updated, alright? No more secrets."

" No more secrets." I agreed, before he hung up. I let out a sigh, leaning back in my chair, before I noticed Sam standing in the doorway. She motioned for me, and I frowned before I got up to follow her. She led me away from the bridge, and down to a quiet area of the hanger, before turning on me. " You need to follow the Tesseract."

" What?" I questioned.

" You need to go with Thor and Loki to Asgard." She said, and I looked at her like she'd lost her mind. " Asgard. But thats-"

" Another world? So. Not like you haven't done it before."

" Yeah, on accident." I stated, and she rolled her eyes. " Trust me. It'll be worth the journey." 

She vanished, and I let out a sigh. " Can't get a break." I muttered.
