Keith got startled by the phone ring. Nobody calls him, neither does he to anybody. As he looked at the phone screen he saw an unknown number.
He hesitantly received the call.
"Hello, who is this?"
"Hi Keith, it's me Rose."
" Rose? How did you get this number?"
"I have some connection. They got me this number. Was it too much?"
Keith heard a tremble in her voice. It felt to him that she was crying.
"Rose, are you crying?"
"What? I am not." said Rose in a muffled voice.
"What's wrong Rose? Please talk to me" Keith asked.
"I don't know. It's stupid. I shouldn't have called."
"Just listen to my voice and tell me what's wrong."
"It's just I feel everyone I care about abandons me. And I felt our friendship is on the verge of it's end. I just feel very lonely and unlovable." Rose sobbed
"Look I am not abandoning you." and Keith knew he shouldn't say this but he still did.
"And I still love you. I don't think I can stop anytime soon."
" You still love me?" Rose seem stunned.
"Yes I do. So pull yourself together okay?"
"I will I promise. Thank you for making me feel less shitty."
Keith chuckled a bit and said goodbye to her. As he sat down with the phone in his hand he pondered could he ever get over her....
