"Kookie" I softly whispered as my eyes landed on the man standing at the end of the hallway.
Taehyung followed my gaze and soon enough, a smirk was plastered on his face.
He then brought my attention back to him by ruffling my hair. "I'll see you later, princess."
What he said wasn't left unnoticed by the other students as their mumbles became louder once he started walking away.
"Are they dating?"
"I thought she likes Jungkook."
"Looks like he already moved on from Jisoo."
"I heard B.I. and his ex are also dating."
"Wow she's lucky!"
Their words were clear but I was oblivious to it as I was too focused on my best friend, who was still standing on his spot with his eyes glued to me.
I noticed how his jaw clenched when Taehyung nonchalantly gave him a pat on his back once he passed by him.
Seeing the pain in Jungkook's beautiful orbs was causing me great guilt. I tried urging myself to approach him but my feet were stuck on the ground.
He then started to walk my way while clutching the bouquet of flowers in his hand until he reached the front door of our classroom.
Before he went inside, he spared one last glance at me with his cold facade, sending shivers down my spine. He never looked at me that way before.
I was about to follow him but I was stopped by Irene, who strongly slapped me on my arm.
"Yah! You've got a lot of explaining to do, young lady." She said with crossed arms as she impatiently tapped her foot.
"Ire—"
Our conversation was disturbed by the loud cheers coming from the inside of our room. Irene pulled me hastily to come closer in the growing crowd, being the nosy person that she is.
As I gained sight of the scene, my heart clenched.
Jungkook was smiling as he handed out the bouquet of red roses he was holding to one of our classmates, Rosé.
She tucked a few strands of her hair as she reached out for the flowers before hugging him. He on the other hand responded by embracing her tightly as he caressed her long locks.
All of our classmates were celebrating for them, even Irene, who's acting all giddy beside me. But here I am, not knowing this foreign feeling I have right now.
So I was wrong. He never liked me. I should feel relieved but why does it feel like my chest is being pierced by a thousand needles?
Maybe I'm just jealous because he'll have another girl other than me. Right. He's my best friend and I'm just sad by the thought that his attention will now be entirely given to someone else.
Just then, our professor came, making all of us settle on our seats. I noticed that Jungkook sat beside Rosé instead of sitting on his usual seat, which is next to me.
