I kept on fidgeting in my place. I never felt this so nervous and it's only because of a party.
I didn't tell Irene nor Jungkook that I'll be attending the Freshmen's gathering. There's actually no reason in hiding but I can't get myself to tell them that I'm going while my partner is Taehyung.
"Don't be nervous. You're beautiful."
I quickly looked at Taehyung and he only kept his eyes on the road. I can't help but smile to myself.
He was the one who bought my dress. Apparently, I was already wearing my high school's prom gown since the party's theme was formal so I thought it's okay. He didn't like it though.
So I'm now wearing a red ombre long gown dress that has a V neckline with my hair in an up-do, exposing my bare neck. It perfectly hugged my body and thankfully, it's not too showy like the one he gave me last time. Honestly, I thought it's perfect.
Soon enough, we arrived at the university. I didn't expect he would open the door for me but he did. He then gently held my hand as he guided me inside.
Everything was fine when we got to our table, not until his brother Hanbin and Jisoo appeared. His demeanor changed in an instant and quickly embraced his one arm around me.
Maybe to make Jisoo jealous? It didn't work though as they didn't notice our presence.
He squeezed me closer to him and acted as if he was whispering something to my ear. I shivered with his hot breath, feeling butterflies in my stomach at the same time.
Jennie, stop it.
I noticed him grinning as he stare in front. I followed the direction of his eyes and saw the couple staring back at us. Jisoo quickly shifted her gaze and pulled Hanbin away to sit on a table that's far from us.
"I think it worked." He smiled contentedly and looked back at me. "Now, where's your best friend?"
I didn't notice I was already gawking at his features until he chuckled. I quickly snapped out of my thoughts and looked away.
"What did you say?"
"Princess, you shouldn't be falling for me."
"I am not!" I almost immediately turned my head to face him and I regretted it. Our faces were only an inch apart now.
He stared deep into my orbs and I was hypnotized by him. He was contemplating something but didn't get to voice it out.
He faced the other way and removed his hand that was on my shoulders. "Your best friend. Where is he?"
Right. Kookie.
I looked around and tried searching for him again. I was already looking for him the first time I step foot inside but he's not here.
I wanted to see him. But I know I'll regret it after once I saw him with Rosé. Maybe it's better they didn't come.

The program started and we helped ourselves with the buffet. I was happily munching my food when I felt Taehyung's thumb brushing the side of my lips.
