Asuka's POV

"THIS SHIT CAN'T BE HAPPENING!" Katsu screamed at the top of her lungs.

"Why?" Hibrai sobbed.

I watched with tears in my eyes as the Jedi Temple burns. Padme stood by me as Yumi was on her chest, crying as Padme had tears in her eyes. The one place we made so many memories and befriend about most of the Jedi Knights are gone. But one person who has returned to the Temple....Anakin. I don't know his fate but I pray to the force that he is still alive.

Homura is crying as she has tried to COMM Obi-Wan but no answer. Both of us are closer to our due dates. Ikargua and Yagyu lead me away from that horrible view. Captain Typho waited inside as he didn't say a word to either of us as silence fills the room. Aside from Homura, Hibrai, and Yumi crying.

"Asuka, Anakin is here!" Mirai calls out from the Veranda.

I rushed onto the Veranda as he exited his fighter. I embraced him tightly.

"Are you alright? I heard there was an attack on the Jedi Temple....you can see the smoke from here. I went down there with Ikargua and Hikage and it was terrible." I explained.

"I'm fine. I came to see if you and the baby are safe." Anakin said as he place a hand on my stomach.

"We're all safe. What's happening?" I asked.

"The Jedi have tried to overthrow the Republic." Anakin informed me.

"I can't believe that!" I gasped.

"I couldn't either at first, but it's true. I saw Master Windu attempt to assassinate the Chancellor myself."

"Shit, Anakin! What are you going to do?" I asked.

"I will not betray the Republic....my loyalties lie with the Chancellor, and with the Senate, and with you." Anakin sighed.

"What about Obi-Wan?" Homura asked as she appeared, eyes puffing with tears.

"I don't know, Homura. Many Jedi have been killed. We can only that he's remained loyal to the Chancellor."

"How could this have happened?" Padme asked as she and Yumi appeared.

"The Republic is unstable, Padme. The Jedi aren't the only ones trying to take advantage of the situation. There are also traitors in the Senate." Anakin informed her.

That scared me a lot. I'm a Senator and they will probably be looking at me like I'm a traitor since I believe in democracy.

"Wait, what the fuck are you even saying?" Yumi asked as anger is visible in her eyes.

"You all need to distance yourselves from your friends in the Senate. The Chancellor said they will be dealt with when this conflict is over." Anakin advised.

"What if they start an inquisition? We all opposed this war. What will you do if we all become suspects? Including me and Padme?" I asked.

"That won't happen, Asuka. I won't let it." Anakin promised.

"Anakin, I'm afraid." I whimpered.

Anakin wrap his arms around me. "Have faith, my love. Everything will be soon set right. The Chancellor has given me a very important mission. The Separatists have gathered in the Mustafar system. I'm going to there to end this war. Wait for me until I return....things will be different, I promise." Anakin told me.

We kissed and he start to head to his fighter. "Please, wait for me." Anakin repeated.

"I will." I promised.

Then, he takes off and I groaned in agony.

"Asuka, is there anything I might do?" 3PO offers me.

"No thank you, 3PO." I dismissed.

"A snack, perhaps?" The droid offered to be helpful.

"No, take Homura to bed, please. That will be all." I sighed.

3PO starts to move off. "I feel so helpless." He states as he escorts Homura to one of the guest rooms.

I was called into an emergency meeting. I told Padme to join me as Yumi agreed to stay here with the others. We went to the Senate building and sat with Jar Jar and Bail Organa.

"The Jedi have tried to overthrown the Senate. All through the battle they put me through has left me scarred and deformed. I will not give up. Instead, we will become stronger. All the remaining Jedi will be destroyed. In order to ensure our security and continuing stability, the Republic will be organized into the First Galactic Empire. For a safe and secure society which I will ensure you will last for 10 thousand years!" Palaptine finishes his speech.

Everyone around us cheered obnoxiously. I'm not cheering. This is not what I agreed on. We support democracy, not an empire.

"So this is how liberty dies...with a thunderous applause." Padme stated.

"All of this hard work....is all for nothing." I sighed.
