"I see that the both of you are friends now," said the King as he sat down on the end of the table.
"We sure are, King Quirin," said Jamie with a huge smile as she gently took a bite of the meat, balancing it on her fork and knife. "Right, Cass?"
Cassandra wanted to roll her eyes when she heard Jamie call her by her nickname — but she can't do it in front of the King. It'll be too respectful.
"Yes, Ami," she said with a smirk. Fine then. Calling with the nicknames without permissions.
She used her fork and stabbed the meat as she gently took a bite. She felt a shiver when she felt like someone was staring at her. She turned to the king but it wasn't him for he was looking at his food. She turned to the side and saw Jamie giving her dagger looks.
She frowned as she chewed her food. What's her problem? Was it because of the nickname thing? Well, she started it.
"Cassandra," she heard the king spoke.
"Yes, your majesty?" She asked.
"Follow me," said Quirin, as he placed his napkin back in the table and stood up.
Cassandra quickly did the same and stood up, following the king. Jamie watched the two as they entered a door that not even Jamie entered before.
Cassandra's eyes widened in awe when she saw what's inside. It was a grand hallway with portraits at each side. The king chuckled when he saw her reaction.
"This is the grand hallway where the Kingdom's past and current King and Queen portrait are." He smiled. "One day, you'll have your own portrait, along with my son, in here."
Cassandra felt a sinking feeling in her stomach. It isn't possible. She's not the real princess. This is only a facade.
She put up a fake smile. "It feels so surreal."
"I'm sure that you'll be a great Queen," said Quirin and placed a hand on her shoulder, giving it a pat.
"I'm not sure about that," said Cassandra, bowing her head.
"You will be. I know that," he said.
"I hope so."
"Anyway, I'm sure that you'll be ready for next week, right?" He asked.
Cassandra looked up and furrowed her eyebrows. Next week? "I don't understand, your majesty."
"Haven't Varian told you about it?"
She shooked her head and the King sighed. "He'll probably tell you that tonight. Where is he, anyway?"

"What do you think about Cassandra?" The brunette asked. They were sitting on a bench and thanfully, no one was around at this time of afternoon and Rapunzel had Eugene to check the surround just in case other people would come.
"About Cassie?" He asked. "Well I-" she cuts her off, her eyes sparkling.
"Ooh, did you just call her Cassie? I always wanted to call her that but she hates it and the she lets you?!" Her eyes widened, tons of ideas and scenarios in her mind. "This is great!"
Varian just chuckled. "She, uh, actually doesn't like it but I like calling her Cassie — and fortunately, she just let me do it."
"Woah. The last time someone called her Cassie headed straight to the Castle infirmary," Rapunzel said, making Varian's face lost it's color.
