Drew screamed, thrashing her arms around in the air wildly as if there would be anything for her to grab on to. "Drew, just calm down!" Clarisse yelled.
Drew didn't listen, just kept on screaming and trying to grab on to something that wasn't there. It felt like Drew had been falling for hours, when it had only been one and a half seconds. One second later, Drew slammed into the bushes bellow. Surprisingly though, it didn't hurt too bad. It hurt, but not too bad.
Before Clarisse could even ask if she was alright, Drew gasped, staring at her hand in horror. "M-m-my nail," Drew wailed.
"Your nail?" Clarisse frowned.
Drew nodded, her lip wobbling, and shoved her hand in Clarisse's face so she could see. There was tiny chip in her pointer finger nail which had been painted with red nail polish.
"That's it!" Drew sobbed. "We're all doomed!"
Clarisse sighed, then did the most logical thing and slapped Drew across the face. Drew stopped crying and blinked. "Thanks, Clarisse. I needed that," Drew said, though there was sure to be a bruise or mark on her cheek now. Clarisse has slapped her hard.
"So ready to go get that Athena kid?" Clarisse said.
"Can we wait till it's light out? I'm super tired," Drew said, climbing out of the bush. She yawned as it to prove her point.
Clarisse frowned, but to be honest, she was super exhausted herself. "Yeah, sure," Clarisse said.
"Horse stables?" Drew suggested.
"Smells like poop in there but sure," Clarisse said casually.
-
Drew didn't know how long she had been sleeping, but she woke up to Clarisse slapping her across the face... in the same spot as last time. Drew yelped, shooting up. "Gah!" She said.
Clarisse just burst out laughing.
Drew frowned, rubbing the sleep out of her eyes. "What time-" Drew yawned "-Is it?"
Clarisse shrugged. "I don't know, around 6:30-ish."
"P.M.?" Drew said hopefully.
"A.M.! The sun is rising!" Clarisse grinned, causing Drew to groan.
"Clarisse, I'm a daughter of Aphrodite! I literally need my beauty sleep!" Drew snapped.
"I thought you'd be grateful! This is pretty late for me. I usually get up around 5. More time to train," Clarisse said.
Drew shook her head, "You're insane."
"No, I'm Clarisse," the daughter or Ares smiled. Drew just rolled her eyes.
"Well the Athena kids have been cursed to act like stereotypical Aphrodite kids, and they usually sleep in till nine or ten - at least I do - so we'll be sitting here for another three to four hours," Drew grumbled.
"Pft," Clarisse said, "Who cares? Let's just wake them up!"
"And how do you suggest we do that?" Drew said dryly.
"Noise!" Clarisse said, a trouble maker smile she must have learned from the Stolls on her face. Though they're usually frowning or screaming when they're around Clarisse - they're her favorite punching bags.
"Why not," Drew sighed, standing up. As they walked out of the stables, they were careful to not wake up the Pegasi. They were not morning people - well, ponies.
After a couple more minutes, the duo finally reached the Athena cabin. "So what are we going to do?" Drew whispered.
"Talk in your normal voice!" Clarisse said. "We want to wake them up!"
"Um, okay?" Drew said, no longer whispering. "What else?"
"Yell, scream, bang on their door, all that jazz," Clarisse said.
Drew nodded. She began screaming and yelling at the top of lungs, and pounding and kicking on the door. Clarisse was doing the same thing as Drew, but much, much louder. A few minutes later they stopped, snickering evilly. Inside they could here the whines and protests of the Athena kids.
