A/N: oop double update

____________________

Jaemin was wrapped tightly in the blankets on his bed, staring unamused at Mark who was staring back at him, his hands on his hips. They just stared at each other for a moment or two, Jaemin unable to move from how tightly the blankets were wrapped around his cold body.

"Not comfortable?"

"No."

Mark let out a sigh before moving forward, kneeling on Jaemin's bed as he began to unwrap him from the unforgiving clutches of the layers of warm fuzzy material. Before long, Jaemin was wiggling free from the burrito, sitting up and giving Mark a small smile and a laugh, looking at the disappointed look on Mark's face.

"At least you tried." he offered and Mark nodded, echoing the statement as he mumbled a barely audible 'at least I tried.'

Now sitting on his bed in silence, Jaemin let his mind wander to Mark holding his hand maybe only a half hour earlier. He couldn't help the hope bubble in his chest that Mark could give him a chance. Hell, Jaemin wasn't even sure if he liked Mark like that but, since they were soulmates, he was sure that they would eventually come to like or even love each other.

Thus, Jaemin offered cuddles.

Mark's face went a bright red and he rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly. But, maybe because he was feeling bad for Jaemin, he complied, although it was very hesitently. Laying down on the bed, Mark began to tug the many blanket layers over the two of them, looking over at Jaemin with a wary expression.

Jaemin rolled his eyes at the space between them and rolled over, reaching out to pull Mark closer to him. Shameless as he was, Jaemin was also very cold and very much in need of physical comfort and affection. So, shuffling awkwardly until Jaemin was curled up against Mark's side, his head resting on Mark's chest while Mark's arm wrapped around his back, the two began to silently cuddle.

It became very apparent, very soon, that Mark had never spent any time in his life cuddling with someone, not even his friends. Jaemin huffed at the rigidness of the boy and he threw his arms around Mark's chest, his leg coming up over the boy's leg. "Mark try and relax a little, it's like hugging a wooden plank."

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry," Mark apologized and Jaemin couldn't help but laugh as he felt the boy shift, trying his best to not be as stiff. Jaemin pressed his cheek against the older boy's chest, hearing the boy's heart thumping irregularly. He decided to start talking to try and get Mark to relax, even if it was just a little.

"Have you spoken to Yuta yet about the rumors?" Jaemin asked, his head lifting and falling along with Mark's chest, his fingers slightly picking at the side of the boy's shirt. Mark let out a soft sigh, Jaemin already knowing the answer before he spoke.

"No, I haven't yet," he said softly, "I don't know what to say. I mean, I just ran out like that but I was so scared that I would hurt him by being around him. I'm... not the kind of person that people should associate themselves with."

Jaemin laughed lightly, staring at the wall across the room as he hugged Mark's side, "I mean, I'm associating myself with you. Should I be worried?" Mark laughed lightly too, his chest rumbling under Jaemin causing the boy's heart to flip at the warming action.

His soulmate. His soulmate. His soulmate. It was his soulmate. Hugging his soulmate. Wow his soulmate-

"Maybe. As long as we pretend like we don't know each other in public, I think we'll be fine," Mark said and Jaemin could help the stinging feeling from resonating in his heart. It still hurt that someone wanted to hide their affiliation with Jaemin, even if it was for the best. He felt Mark's arm shift, his hand coming up to ruffle Jaemin's hair. "I'm not ashamed of you Jaemin, I just don't want the both of us to be hurt. I don't want to add that to our stress of figuring things out."
