Mark let out an annoyed groan as Renjun sat next to him with a furious look, the younger boy holding a cloth to his nose as Mark lay on a bed in the nurses' office.

"Don't give me that look Jun," Mark mumbled and Renjun hissed, looking around to make sure the nurse wasn't near before leaning towards him.

"Don't give me that bullshit Mark. I know exactly what's going on here and why you just suddenly started bleeding from your nose." Renjun pressed down harder on Mark's nose and Mark winced, flailing his arms to try and let Renjun know that he was hurting him.

"Oh come on, I already told you, I'm not getting enough sleep," Mark pushed Renjun away, sitting up and holding the cloth to his nose himself, "It happens to everyone." Renjun raised his eyebrows and opened his mouth in protest before laughter from the front of the nurses' office cut them off.

Some clammoring and more laughter sounded and footsteps began coming towards the duo already situated in the back. Mark rolled his eyes and, not entirely wanting to be caught being babied for a small injury, took the cloth from off his nose.

"...he's just very clumsy, aren't you?" a voice commented and the nurse laughed, coming into view with two people following. Mark felt his heart stop.

"Yes, yes, I'm very clu..m...sy."

Jaemin's words trailed off as he made eye contact with Mark. The room seemed to freeze and the nurse coughed awkwardly before gesturing for Jaemin to sit on the bed next to Mark's. Jaemin's eyes were panicked and Mark guessed his were too. He could practically feeling Renjun's anger radiating off of him and he didn't even bother to look at Jaemin's friend.

"Seems like we're getting a lot of injuries around here then," the nurse laughed dumbly and handed Jaemin an ice pack wrapped in a paper towel, "Make sure to keep this on your nose, I'll call your parents."

"NO," both Jaemin and Mark blurted out, panic seizing Mark's chest and throat at the thought of the nurse trying to reach Jaemin's parents. He had already convinced the nurse not to call his. At the action the nurse blinked in surprise, giving Mark a strange look before nodding and walking back to her desk.

The room dissolved into a tense silence and Mark didn't bother to look at Renjun or Jaemin, or Jeno for that matter. He heard Jeno cough awkwardly and he felt Renjun's fingers tense around the bedsheet next to him.

"How does your nose feel Jae?" Jaemin's friend, maybe Jeno, asked Jaemin and Mark blinked slowly, just realizing again that the reason they were in this mess was because something had happened to Jaemin. His nose throbbed and he shifted, feeling pain and aches on his back. He turned towards the younger who was already blantently staring at him.

"J-"

"Leave it Mark."

"You don't get to tell me to leave it!" Mark grit out, standing up and not caring whether or not he had to say it out loud. Who the hell would have hurt Jaemin? He doubted, especially from the timing of the bruises and his own experiences with fights, that it was a simple accident.

At this point, Renjun had probably come to the conclusion and with the way Jaemin's friend was looking between them, he would too. "What happened? Who was it?" Mark demanded and Jaemin rolled his eyes, pulling the cloth away from his face to display his own swollen nose — exactly the same as Mark's.

"Holy shit," Renjun whispered from next to him and Mark looked back at his best friend as he stood up, the chair scraping against the floor, "Holy shit you're soulmates!" He luckily decided to whisper, just loud enough for the four of them to hear.

Mark let out a stressed sigh and moved to pinch the bridge of his nose, stopping the action when he remembered just how badly it was busted up. He gave Jaemin an apologetic look but the younger just shrugged it off. Mark gestured to the ice pack and Jaemin nodded, extending it towards Mark for him to grab.

Sitting next to Jaemin, Mark's hand carefully cupped the back of his head while pressing the ice pack on the pink-haired boy's nose. "Are you okay?" he asked Jaemin softly, not bothering to keep up his act in front on the two other boys who had just found out their most guarded secret.

Well, maybe not their most guarded secret.

"Ya! Lee! Don't just ignore me!" Renjun complained and moved around the side of the bed to sit where Mark had previously been laying, Jaemin's friend moving to sit next to Renjun in front of the pair of soulmates. "You guys are soulmates? So I was fucking right, wasn't I? All those days ago? I fucking knew it."

Mark jolted slightly at the memory of Renjun claiming that Jaemin was his soulmate when the two had first met, raising his eyebrows in surprise at his best friend. "Uh, yeah, I guess you were."

His eyes then traveled back to Jaemin, glancing at the boy's injured nose and the stress lines on his face. "Hey...can you guys leave us alone? We'll talk to you later."

Mark looked back to Renjun with a warning look and the boy nodded, mouthing the words 'yeah we will' with a threatening gesture before going to pick up his school bag and leave.

Then Mark looked over at Jaemin's friend, tensing up a bit as a saw hints of hostility in the boy's eyes as he looked at Jaemin. Feeling a bit of anger rise in his chest at the look, Mark scowled, drawing the boy's attention to his own face. The younger boy's eyes narrowed as he looked Mark up and down and he scoffed before standing and picking up his bag. Without another glance at Jaemin, the boy left.

Jaemin immediately melted into Mark's side, his arms sliding around Mark's waist as he rested his head on Mark's shoulder. A relaxed sigh slipped from the boy's mouth and Mark took the ice pack off of Jaemin's nose to wrap his arms around Jaemin's frame.

"Shh it's okay Nana, what happened princess?" Mark whispered, hugging Jaemin tight to his chest as the boy's fingers gripped at the back of his sweatshirt. He felt so vulnerable and upset as he held Jaemin in his arms, only imagining the worse for what could have happened to the younger to lead him to a bruised back and what could possibly be a broken nose.

"I don't even know," Jaemin said quietly, his voice soft and emotional as he leaned away from Mark to look at him, "It was some kid in my gym class. He seemed hooked onto the fact that I knew you and that a friend of his had seen us hanging out outside of school. What do you only hang out with Renjun or something?"

"Jesus," Mark groaned and rubbed his hands on the side of his face, electing to ignore the last jab at his lack of friends, before running his fingers through his hair. "When I get my hands on that guy I swear to god I'll make him wish he had never been born." Jaemin's hand rested on his shoulder and Mark placed one of his hands over the other's. "I'm sorry that I put you in this situation."

Guilt hit him like a truck as he looked back up at Jaemin's bruised face, not even wanting to think about his injured back. It wasn't like Mark wasn't hurting himself from the residual pain, but being in that situation much have been so much worse than the secondary pain.

He couldn't believe that his actions against another student who was most likely out for revenge had brought him to this nurses' room where he was comforting his soulmate who had been injured because of him.

Jaemin's hand moved up to cup his face and Mark leaned into the touch, closing his eyes at the comforting gesture. "Mark it's not your fault." Jaemin said softly and Mark opened his eyes, turning his head to side to kiss Jaemin's palm.

He watched as Jaemin's face lit up a rosy pink and looked away, completely flustered. Mark laughed and brought the ice pack up to Jaemin's face. "Come on let's finish icing your nose."
