How it all started... But in High School

Nothing To Worry About... Yet

Me and Piper walk over to the group and the second Percy sees me he puts me in front of him, so I'm facing Calypso. ‘Fuck she’s even prettier up close.’ I thought. 

    “This is my girlfriend Annabeth, she’s who I was telling you about. Tell her! I bet she would love to hear your story” Percy said, in a desperate tone. I turned my head and stared at him in confusion. He has a look on his face that screams ‘I needed an excuse to get out of that conversation. Sorry.’ I turned back to Calypso and she laughed and stuck her hand out for a hand shake. I obliged and gave her an awkward smile. 

    “Hi, I’m Calypso. Wow you’re even prettier than Percy said. And to clear up any confusion I was telling Percy and Jason this funny story about my boyfriend Leo! It’s about the time where I was watching him build this miniature dragon that can fly on it’s own and then his pants got stuck on a screw at the side of the table right? So when he walked passed, he was about to turn and then…” I spaced out as she continued the story. 

    I had one thought on my mind and it brought me a lot of relief. ‘She already has a boyfriend. Thank the gods. One less thing to lose Percy to.’ I kept thinking. Of course I knew that Percy wasn’t the type of guy to just leave me when he gets bored, but that thought was at the back of my head. I mean when everyone just walks in and out of your life, those thoughts are always there. 

    By the time I came back to reality from my thoughts, Calypso was finishing her story. Percy’s face was red and he face-palmed himself as he let out a chuckle. Jason let out a huge laugh which startled me. I forgot he was there. Piper walked next to Jason while letting out an obvious forced laugh. ‘Wow she's obsessed with him isn't she’ I mentally asked myself. 

    Percy hugged me from behind and I couldn’t help but grin widely. Just being near him made my heart pound a mile per minute and it felt amazing. So what if we were moving too fast? We were meant to be together. And nothing would change that. Not another person or any reason. 

    The bell rang and everyone started running. Jason must have told Piper about my schedule because she grabbed my hand and started pulling me while yelling “Come on Anne! It’s time for chorus!”. 

    I turned my head and saw Jason pulling Percy. Percy then proceeded to try and run, but ended up tripping on nothing and falling, dragging Jason down with him. Percy fell on top of Jason and they both burst out laughing. 

    “Sorry bro *wheeze* Almost killed you *laughter*” Percy said between laughs. 

    “Nah it’s cool bro”Jason said starting to get up while laughing. Piper yelled my name and I realized I had been standing there watching my boyfriend with a huge grin. 

    “Bye Seaweed Brain!” I yelled over my shoulder running after Piper. 

    “See ya Wise Girl” Percy yelled back. By the time I caught up with Piper we were in front of a room and people were still walking in. We walked in and the room was beautiful. It had sunlight coming in through the windows that hit these crystals that were hanging from the ceiling. The crystals made rainbows appear across the room when the sunlight hit them, and they made the room feel more comfortable to be in. 

    There was a piano in the corner of the room where the sunlight hit the least. It was absolutely beautiful. The sunlight mostly hit the middle of the classroom where everyone stood and sang. As if it were one huge spotlight. 

    At the corner opposite the piano, there was a group of kids talking, singing, and writing in these journals. I realized they were songwriting. On the steps where everyone sang a lot of kids were either doing vocal warmups or harmonizing in groups. 

    Piper put her hand on my shoulder and sighed happily. “Welcome to the chorus room Annabeth”
