DANIEL POV

I can't quite explain the kind of rage I felt, when a guard barged into my office and notified me of the accident, involving a new inmate, named Liam.

Matthew is the one who had reported the incident, according to the report I am holding. Why didn't any of the guards see or hear the commotion and step in? This is just a cover-up and if my guess is right, it was planned all along and some guards were in on it. That is why it was easy to keep other inmates off the corridor at such a busy time.

I dashed to the CCTV room and requested to see the footage of that particular hallway. As I had suspected,  nothing came up. The guard on duty checked the cameras,  only to realize a whole thirty minutes file had been deleted.

It could have been anyone, because most of the  guards have password access. I should change it and just give to specific ones. It will make it easier to pin out culprits with only a few to consider.

Though the guard in question was one of my own, he had to sign a written warning. He was the one on duty and such shouldn't have happened under his watch.

I went back to my office, ready to head home but the desire to visit Liam overwhelmed me. I started for the infirmary.

When I got there, doctor Mark directed me to his room. I opened the door and found him laying on his side with his back facing me.

I could tell he was struggling in that position. I laid my hand on his back with the intention of repositioning him, but unfortunately I ended up startling him.

He turned his head too fast, which caused him to moan in pain. I apologized and  slowly helped him to settle comfortably on the bed, after which I took  time studying his slender frame.

Minus all the bruises, his pale skin was the smoothest and softest adult boy skin I have ever touched. It made me wonder the kind of home he comes from.

It was obvious he was a sheltered boy, who in some aspects was still innocent. The way he averted his gaze and suddenly got interested in his IV drip was interesting to watch. The nervous smile on his face indicated he was blushing under my scrutiny.

As I continued staring at him blatantly, he squirmed, rubbing his palm against the bed avoiding any eye contact. My fingers were itching to trace his skin some more, but I didn't want to appear creepy.

He coughed awkwardly making me reign in my fascination. I paced around the small room in silence, shoving my hands in the pocket. I didn't want to leave him alone, but I knew I had to. And soon. In a desperate attempt to help him, I inquired  if he needed stronger painkillers and food.

It turned out he did.

I found it amusing, the way he suddenly gained the courage to utter full sentences with me, when food was in question.

"I will have the doctor bring it to you," I offered with a small smile before bidding him goodbye. I did promise  to check on him the following day.

I needed to know more about him, than ever wanted to know about anyone. But then again, he wasn't like anyone I had ever met.
