Adrian and I finally officiated our newfound relationship to everyone that morning. To my disappointment, none of them were surprised. No one even showed the courtesy to act appalled.

"I knew it. I so knew it. Didn't I tell you, Cole? There was something brewing between them definitely.", claimed Leslie.

"Adrian man, we have known it for a while now. The two of you being so close and then you both purposely avoiding each other over the last week. Doesn't take a genius to add up. Speaking of which even I have some news of my own.", Cole announced.

"Leslie and I have been seeing each other too. We wanted to tell you guys sooner but we didn't get to it. So here it is. Ginna, I am so sorry we are stealing your thunder.", he winked at me. It wasn't much of a thunder to begin with anyway.

"I can't believe this.", I gasped. Leslie and Cole together? How did it miss my radar?

"You guys! I can't believe this." I gave them each a friendly hug.

"Since we have two new couples in town, what do you say, we celebrate over the weekend?", suggested Cole.

"Sure man. But you all are paying." Andy proposed.

"Why not, we will plan something interesting for the weekend. Adrian, Ginna, Mia you in?"

"I don't know, I'll have to check with my coach." Adrian responded.

"I will have to check with my boss, if he can adjust my shift, I am in.", Mia added.

"Mia, I don't care, you have to make it happen.", I insisted.

"I will try, you know I want to be there but..."

"No buts and ifs Mia, you are coming."

Work was a shit show today. Mrs. Stillman had trusted me to run the shop entirely by myself and without her by my side; I cried mad as a hatter handling the crowd. I was on my legs all afternoon. By the end of my shift. I could barely walk. I decided to book a cab to my place and then to the university. Being a little early than required, I grabbed some coffee on my way; depending of the sugar to put me through this lecture.

Academically, ever since I started my new job, I was lagging behind. I barely met deadlines and wasn't really satisfied with the quality of work I was fishing out. Mia and I struggled with assignments and submissions at night while barely being able to bat our eyes during class in the morning. I knew adjusting work and academics was not going to be a cakewalk but this was like crossing a Burma bridge. I was walking on a tight rope expecting to survive the last thread. This entire week had taken a toll over my health and I could really use some relaxation.

I met Adrian in the canteen. He was hanging out with his football buddies. We marched together to class and sat down waiting for the rest of our team.

"You want to come over after class?", he offered while fidgeting with a pen in his palm.

"I am way too exhausted to go anywhere after class. I'll just go home and nap." I answered his question while rubbing my eyes with a wet wipe.

"umm okay.", he nodded casually,

I really wanted to get together after class but my legs were giving away and I was barely making it to class today.

"I can come at night to do some homework.", I offered to compensate.

His face brightened up.

"Have dinner with me?"

Who could refuse some delicious food?
