Wearing Their Skin

INT. FLASHBACK: SCHOOL ASSEMBLY - SENIOR YEAR

PURPLE TINTS OF LIGHT

There are hundreds of faces in the stands. WILLOW is saving a seat for LEVI. RYN and MADDOX are seated beside WILLOW.

There is music playing. LEVI has gotten up to dance on the floor.

LEVI
Willow! Come dance with me! [WILLOW shakes her head] Oh come on? Who cares what other people think! It's our senior year! [WILLOW shakes her head again] Let them judge me, but at least I'm being myself. [continues dancing while everyone is getting settled.]

A TALL BOY approaches her. The music stops. Everyone's eyes are on them.

TALL BOY
How much cash will it take for you to dance on me?

LEVI
[disgusted look] There isn't enough money in the world to make that happen.

Audience laughs, TALL BOY flushes red.

TALL BOY
[he takes out a wad of cash] Fifty bucks if you have sex with me.

LEVI snatches the cash with two fingers and boops him on the nose with it

LEVI
How about I don't, but say we did. [turns on her heel and begins to walk out of the gym.] Thanks for the fifty.

TALL BOY chases after her.

MADDOX, WILLOW, and RYN run after them.

They find LEVI cornered by TALL BOY, he has her jacket in his hands and is standing over LEVI's body as she's curled into a ball on the floor. MADDOX and RYN throws him off of her and begins to beat the shit out of him.

WILLOW helps LEVI up and shields LEVI from seeing this.

LEVI
[meekly] Why are we always looked at as if we're toys. [pushes by WILLOW and begins to stomp on TALL BOY.] I am a human being with feelings! When I say no, I mean no! Whenever someone says no, you STOP! [screaming/sobbing at him] Do you understand‽

RYN and MADDOX stand aside, breathing heavily. WILLOW looks tearfully at LEVI.

I deserve to be treated like a human being!

[WILLOW hugs LEVI and she sobs into her shoulder.]

WILLOW
[lightly rocking her back and forth like a baby] yes you do, Hun. Shh, it's okay, I'm here now. I won't let this happen to you or anyone I care about ever again.
