"You guys can come out now" I said tying up the kidnappers. "That didn't even take a minute" Jean said looking around. "We need to hurry. Levi said that we'll be fighting humans too and not just titans" I said checking the guns. "Wha-" "No time, let's go" I said dragging Jean behind me.
Oh shit they've got him cornered i thought narrowing my eyes at the scene. "You all follow that wagon, I'll be with you in a moment" I said before moving towards the bar. I hid in a corner and the located all the enemies before killing them one by one silently. There's another one. I swear i counted 14 of them i thought searching for the 14th person. Wait.. don't tell me-
"Well, well, well. What do we have here?" A woman spoke causing me to hold my breath. Is this it for me? I can hear my ears ringing pretty well.. In that exact moment Levi came from the bar and swept me off the ground right before the gunshot. "Jules fly now!" He shouted. "Y-Yes!" I said before pulling him along with me. "What just happened? Is that.. ?" I asked. "Yes, it's him. Kenny, the reaper" a chill ran down my spine as heard the name. "S-Should i-" "No. I don't want him near you. Listen to me, take care of the kids" "But-" "Please Jules" he gripped my hand tightly.
As Levi parted to hold back Kenny, i flew back to help the kids. I noticed the Jean and Sasha fighting with enemies in the wagon while the others fought with the one who were on air. He can't kill her.. she'll kill him first! "JEAN!" I shouted as i shoved him away from the path and sliced the woman. Maybe that was one of the things the enemies were hoping for to happen because just as i slashed the woman, a bullet pierced through my body. The last thing I remember was hitting the hard concrete and everyone's shrilled screams.
I flicked my eyes to see Levi's tired face up close. "You're finally awake.. Don't scare me like that please" he kissed my forehead and gripped my hand tightly. "What happened.. ?" i attempted to sit up but instantly my body ached. "Lay down now. Your shoulder is wounded. I'll call the others. They were pretty worried" he said walking away. Why am i injured in the first place..? The kids all ran inside the room and breathed in relief seeing me. "We thought we lost you!" "I was so scared!" "I'm so happy you're alive!" i heard them all talk together causing me chuckling slightly. "I'm alright, really. Sorry for worrying you kids" i smiled at each of them before something clicked in me. "Where's Eren.. ?"
"Eren was taken away" Levi said and that suddenly brought back the images of the scene that happened a while ago. "Jules.. I'm so sorry. It's my fault this all happened" Jean said as he cried with his head down. I so badly wanted to cry right now thinking how useless i was and that Eren got kidnapped because of me but i couldn't crush the kids' feelings I signed him to come close to me which he obeyed immediately. "It's not your fault" i wiped his tears gently "We were taught how to kill Titans not humans. I understand how you feel" I said softly. I glanced at Levi who was staring at me affectionately.
A few days later
"It started again" Jean said. "It feels like the screams are louder than before" Connie said sipping the tea that i prepared for everyone. "Jules, are you sure you should be working so much? Shouldn't you be resting?" Armin asked worriedly. "I couldn't stay in bed anymore.. Also, as my healing ability has increased after i was injected by Grisha, the wound is gone so" i smiled at him. "Yes, you were injured a lot a while ago with plenty of fractures. The wound may have gone quickly but the pain is still there right? I've seen you winch a couple of times" he crossed his arms. "Young man, you worry a lot actually. It makes me want to" i got up and stood near him "mess up your hair!" i ruffled his head and soon the others joined us.
"My my, are we having a party? Screams from below and laughter from above" Levi said as he, Hangi and Moblit came inside the room. "Laughter is a good medicine. You should try that too sometimes" i said giving him a toothy grin to which he just stared at me. If only he'd smile more often.. Also, the way he's staring at me.. he could strip me na- * cough * "So, have you guys found anything?" i asked pouring their tea. "Yes! A really shocking thing actually" Hangi-san said, her eyes shining. "Historia is the true successor to Reiss?!" me and the kids asked in unision. "In other words, both Eren and Historia are likely wherever Rod Reiss is" Levi said putting the teacup down.
