My Dad's New Business Partner

Chapter 6

I wake up early the next morning to my phone vibrating, it's an automated message from the company I purchased my car from saying my car will be outside in an hour. I take a look at my phone and it's 6:30 am, so I have a shower and get ready for my first day at Harvard. I grab my bag and wait outside the front door of the house, 5 minutes later my new car is infront of me and another car behind it with a woman in ready to take the guy who delivered my car back to the company. The guy hands me the car keys and I thank him while getting in the car, then I use the built in sat nav to find the nearest Starbucks, I also connect my phone to the car as the car can read text messages to me and things like that while I am driving and then start driving. I go through the Starbucks drive through and ask for a Hot chocolate. Once I have paid I pull up in a space on the car park so I can drink it while I think about what happened last night with Daniel. He didn't return to my room to get into bed and sleep with me after he cleaned himself up, so I'm guessing that he must of regretted it afterwards and sees what happened between us as a mistake. I have a hurt feeling in my chest because I actually feel a bit used. I came out early this morning because I didn't want the awkward conversation that I knew was coming the 'I'm sorry but last night was a mistake it won't happen again' talk. It's going to be so awkward living with him to... I'm sure Jackson would let me crash at his for a couple of days until I found somewhere to live. That was a living arrangement plan but oh god what about work? Just then I'm pulled out of my thoughts with a text from Jackson:

To: Lauren
From: Jackson
Hey beautiful, I don't know if your up yet but if you are or when you are, do you mind doing me a huge favour? Will you drive to my house and pick me up as I need a lift to Harvard and then a lift back home later tonight? I got in my car not long ago ready to make my way there and for some reason it won't start. My brother is going to take it to his garage today so it should be all fixed tomorrow. Let me know shortcake Love you xxxx

Time to drive to my babies house and help him by giving him a lift. Hang on a minute, I would be on a in a bit of a downer mood wise if that would of happened to me... maybe if I grab him a drink and some breakfast from here first maybe that will put a smile on his face. I type a text in reply to him:

To: Jackson
From: Lauren
Hey baby of course I will pick you up no problem at all, I am just at Starbucks and don't worry I am buying you a drink and some breakfast.  See you vary shortly my baby, love you xxxx

I go back through the drive through ordering a drink and some breakfast for Jackson, some breakfast for me as I hadn't had anything yet and another hot chocolate. I pay for everything and then start driving to Jackson's place, as I'm driving I have a phone call from Daniel but reject the call with a command to the built in voice control system built into the car. It's my first day at Harvard and I don't want it to start out any worse than it already had been, waking up this morning and not seeing Dainel lay beside me I felt used and rejected. I stop my thoughts as tears gather in my eyes I put a song on to take my mind off things Sam Smith- Money on my mind fills my ears and makes me smile. A few minutes later I pull up at Jackson's and his outside waiting for me, getting into the car he says "Hey beautiful, we have time before classes there is a park on the next street we could eat our breakfast there if you like." I smile liking the sound of that and say "Sounds perfect baby." Going to the next street I pull onto the car park right next to the actual park, there is a table and bench right by where I have parked so I can keep the music on I have playing in the car while we eat. Jackson brings me in for a big hug and I hug him back, we both sit at the table and I sort out our food and drinks I had gotten for us. I got us both a hot chocolate, an all day breakfast roll which has sausage, egg and bacon on and a pain uh chocolat. "Hmm! this looks so good!" Jackson says with a smile on his face. The plan had worked to get him to smile which also makes me smile. "Yes tastes good to." I say as we are both eating and Jackson nodds his head in agreement. Once we have both finished our food and drinks we take the rubbish to a nearby bin then get back in the car and start driving to Harvard while singing along to the songs I have playing. It's not long before we reach Harvard I go onto the car park and pull in a space "I will go and get you a temporary pass to park today you will have to get a propper one done today, I will be back in a minute beautiful." Jackson says. I reply with a smile and say "Ok baby." then he gets out of the car and heads inside the building.
