Ariyah stands in front of me as she fixes my necktie then smiles softly, "I love you, Drummer and I'm sorry for giving you such a hard time, all the time. I just don't want you to have me out here looking stupid." She says, as she grabs her purse from the bed.

"I love you too." I lie. "You know I wouldn't do you like that. You need to start trusting me, Ariyah. Yo trust issues be driving me crazy, but I know I'm to blame for that."

Without a word, she nods her head then follows me out to the car, standing at the passenger's door and looking at me. "Are you forgetting something?" She asks, with a raised eyebrow.

"Oh, my bad." I shrug as I walk to her side of the car, opening the door and letting her inside; closing it afterwards.

As I'm driving , Big Ole Freak by Meg comes on and I think about Milani at my bar, dancing hard as hell. That liquor was whooping her ass that night. A smile comes across my face that quickly drops when Ariyah asks me, "what's funny?"

"Nothing, I was just thinking bout sum." I tell her as I focus on the road.

"Bout what? A bitch?"

"Ariyah, don't fucking start! It's bad enough you fucked up my plans by making me come to this stupid ass party with you. We ain't been in the car 10 minutes and yo ass already bitching. If you think ima hear that shit all night, you got another thing coming. I'll leave yo ass there with yo coworkers."

Turning towards me, Ariyah slaps me before fixing her makeup as if nothing just happened. Feeling myself about to spazz, I light up the already rolled blunt that I keep in my glove compartment.

"I'm tired of you putting yo hands on me. You gone be tryna cry when I snatch that Dora the Explorer ass bob off yo motherfucking head." I scoff as I let the weed calm me down.

"Dora the Explorer? What the fuck, Dallas! You told me my hair looked good earlier!" She says as she fixes her dress, getting out of the car and standing next to me.

"I lied."

Ariyah glares at me and loops her arm in mine as we walk up to her job, multiple people speaking to us. She smiles widely as she greets them, I just nod which earns me a pinch from Ariyah.

Looking around the room, I immediately know that this isn't my scene. The white marbled floors, fake plants, and glistening water fountains kill my mood. I also can't even think straight from the damn Beethoven blasting through the speakers. Walking around with Ariyah leading us, I see the lil carrots, celery, and cheese sitting on silver trays with sparkling grape juice on the side.
