The slight sight of the sun shown through the blinds of your room onto your skin. Your eyes fluttered open due to the increasing daylight that crossed into the white room. You still felt pretty tired, you could feel the weight of the newly formed bags under your eyes.
Taking a glance at the clock you notice it's only 5:30 in the morning. Groaning at the early hour, yet again, you slumped back into the warmth of the covers ready to go back to sleep after being angered by your disturbed slumber. Even though it was caused by your own mind.
Before you could drift off into the world of dreams again, the delightful and delicious scent of bacon and eggs lingered into your room.
You nearly bolted out of your bed when you realized how hungry you were. The grumbling in your stomach told you to eat something; anything to satisfy it, and put your impatient stomach to rest.
I should definitely eat something. I'm starving.
You groggily go out of bed, a slight chill crawling up your spine.
You silently begged the creaking in your floor to stop. It was as if the entire neighborhood could hear your footsteps.
Peaking your head through the door to see the dark hallway, you stealthily slip through your door and silently shut it again.
Tip toeing down around the unknown area, yet so familiar, you followed the strong scent of food until you stumbled upon the kitchen.
There was a woman with the same (h/c) hair as you.
This must be my mom..
She stood above the stove with a pretty light blue apron to protect her comfortable looking clothing.
She held a spatula in one hand that was flipping eggs in one pan, then flipping bacon in the other.
She must've sensed there was someone watching her, and as a conclusion she turned around and spotted your curious (e/c) eyes.
"Oh good morning darling! You're up extra early for school today, any special occasion?"
Startled by her words you desperately tried to grasp an excuse to use. You had already finished school though, right?
You remember graduating, and heading off to collage to become a digital artist to pursue your dreams. Then it hit you: that's not your reality anymore.
"U-uh yeah, I suppose I-I am up early, I just couldn't sleep?"
To your mom, it sounded more like a question than a statement. She could only hum in response to your answer.
You hesitantly sat down at the table after standing in the doorway of the kitchen for a bit longer.
The sizzling of the food was such a nice sound combined with the early birds chirping in the morning. The small window above the sink was slightly open to let in the chilly, fresh, morning air. Through the window you could see the small tree that flourished in the morning sunlight. The sun had risen quite early this morning you supposed.
Once your mother was done cooking the food she set down 3 pieces of bacon on a plate, along with the scrambled eggs that had already been there only a few minutes before the bacon was done being cooked.
Your stomach grumbled loudly and your mother let out a small chuckle before setting down the plate of food in front of you.
You began to gobble down the food as your mother quietly but lovingly scolded you for being so improper at the table.
