I ask Justin as we stood in out kitchen together "i think so thank god"Justin says as he's standing by the fridge as I'm leaning against the counter I hear Justin's phone go off behind me and I pick it up I pick it up and read it "Jessica really wants to see you" I say laughing handing Justin his phone

there was a knock on the door damn Jess really couldn't wait  we both walk over to get it Justin opens the  door and Clay is standing there not who I was expecting "he can't be prosecuted okay?" Clay says "what the fuck are you doing here?" Justin says

"I know it was Bryce all right" He says "Jesus" I say "she said he was your friend" Clay says "all right get in here" Justin says letting Clay in as he closes the door behind him

"you have to tell her Justin" Clay says I cross my arms "when the fuck will you give up?" He ask "I get it trying to protect your friend you lied to Jessica and told her Hannah made it up" Clay said

"I did? So I guess it's my word against Hannah's huh?" I look down "exactly the one witness is dead Bryce will get away with it and you can stop protecting him it's legal fact" Clay said"did you talk to somebody? Tell me what the fuck you did" he said stepping closer to clay

"are you listening I just told you I can't go to the cops"Clay said "what do you want from me?" Justin ask "I want you to tell Jessica the truth about what happened to her that night" Clay says "she knows what happened" Justin said as Clay scoffs "go ask her" Justin said

"I did she repeated whatever lies you fed her but she knows somethings up just look at her she's messed up she was drunk at school today" Clay said the oven dings " she's fine" Justin said walking towards the kitchen "she's fucked up and so are you" Clay said "hey!" I warn "fuck you kensley" he said "Jessica deserves to know the truth and she's never gonna believe it unless it comes from you" Clay says

Justin poking at his food he takes a bite "it didn't happen the way Hannah said" Justin said walking to the living room "I've heard that before tell Jessica the truth" he says I followed them and I sit on the couch next to Justin "I already told her" "that's bullshit and you know it" Clay says

"we hooked up that's what happened she wanted it and we hooked up there was no other guy there is no other story you hear me? So whatever Hannah thought she saw she lied about it on those tapes because she's a crazy drama Queen who killed herself for attention" Justin said raising his voice a little "I'm sorry man I know she was your friend" Justin said "and you were her first kiss" Clay said

"so she said" Justin replied a mouth full of food "whatever happened whatever Hannah thinks happened how does that help Jess now?what she needs what we all need is for this to be done with" Justin raised his voice "how can she be done with this if she doesn't know what it is?" Clay ask

"and sooner or later people are going to find out" Clay says "people are not gonna find out" Justin says pointing his fork at Clay "why are you protecting Bryce? What does he have on you" Clay ask "im not protecting Bryce you little fuck" Justin says

"I care more about Jessica than I do about Hannah than I do about you than I do about anybody else" Justin says well that stung a little bit "all right so just get the fuck out!" Justin yells

"I want my bike" Clay says Justin laughs "your bike? Seriously?" Justin said "yes you fucking ass whole I want my bike" Clay says "it's out back behind the building" I say Justin smacks my leg "ow" I say "go knock yourself out" Justin says Clay goes to walk away but stops and turns to us again

"if it were kens would things be different?" Clay ask

"get the fuck out!" Justin yells again "that's what I thought" Clay says walking out "what a prick" Justin says poking his food and taking a bite I lean over and curl up on the couch and fall asleep
