I get home at 5 stopping at a bakery to get V and I two croissants. I walk into the house and notice V watching a movie on her own in a lump. My heart flutters as I watch her mood transform completely as she looks up and smiles from ear to ear. She walks over to me, takes off my coat and my bags and leaves them on a table. "Hi!" She says as she slides her hands into my back pocket and pulls me closer. "Hi baby" I reply, wrapping my arms around her waist and giving her a kiss on her lips. "I couldn't believe you just left me like that" she says, her brows furrowing. "I'm sorry" I reply between kisses. I then hold her face in my hands, stroking her cheeks with my thumb. "Hey" I say to get her attention as she tries to be mad at me. "I'm taking you on a date tonight" I say, watching V finally make excited eye contact with me.
I explained my conversation with Em and why we'll have to go out tonight instead of staying home, watching movies and getting drunk on wine like we discussed last night. V agrees reluctantly before pulling away. I pull her back into my embrace and say "V, it'll be like when we first started going out. It'll be fun and I'll let you dress me" I say, sliding my hand up her back and smiling mischievously once again. V makes eye contact and smiles excitedly. "Really???" She asks. "Oh, absolutely" I whisper, as I plant kisses all over her face.
I agreed to meet Em for drinks and dancing at 9pm tonight, telling her that I'll take V out for dinner and meet her soon after.
A few minutes after I kiss tortured V, I inform her that I have a little bit of work left to finish off. "Didn't you leave me for work today to do that?" She asks, sounding annoyed. Looks like we're not gonna get over that anytime soon. "I didn't LEAVE you! But yes, I just need to make some final edits. It'll only be about a half hour"
V doesn't respond and instead turns to her movie angrily. I let her be till I finish this off, feeling a little flattered almost that she's mad at me cause she hasn't been able to spend much time with me today.
