nini and ricky had rescheduled their meet-up for today and that meant that she had a few hours to try and mentally prepare herself on how to ask him about yesterday.
ashlyn, kourtney and seb left a couple hours ago, since they all had a few things to do today.
after sitting and deciding to try and work on some music, the hours pass quickly and she takes her stuff and heads to her car, driving to ricky's apartment
she arrives to his apartment shortly and opens the car door hesitantly before closing it and holding the wheel, taking a deep breath
"no assumptions nini. just let him talk. he'll explain. and it'll be okay." she tells herself
she exhaled deeply before opening the door once again and making her way into ricky's apartment building
she arrives at his door and hesitantly knocks on it, taking a step back before the door opens to reveal a happy ricky
"hey neens," he smiles as he gives her a quick kiss
nini returns the gesture, but it doesn't quite reach her eyes, to which he notices
she starts fiddling with her charm bracelet and walks in through the doorway, ricky feeling the confusion hit him as to why she was acting weird
"you okay?" he asks her
nini mutters under her breath as ricky heads to his kitchen counter, she quickly whips around to face him
"neens-"
"did you lie to me yesterday?" she asks, getting straight to the point
ricky knits his eyebrows together "why would you-"
"you know how i'm pretty insecure, i mean you've known me since before we could even remember," she begins as she starts pacing back and forth "and you know that i've never really been able to act like myself around people and i don't open up to people because of everything that i've done in my life-"
"neens-"
"and i don't really know if you lied to me, but when i saw quinn's post yesterday, i just started overthinking everything and i don't know why you didn't tell me that you were hanging out with her instead of me-"
"woah woah woah woah woah, wait-" he says quickly as he rushes to stop her from walking and puts his hands on her shoulders "what post?"
nini sighs and takes her phone out, showing it to him
ricky takes a deep breath and meets her eyes, nini shaking her head
"so you did lie?" she asks weakly
the boy shakes his head quickly "no neens- i didn't lie. i really was writing a song-its just that the song i'm writing for the show, is also the song i have to write with quinn." he says quietly
nini scoffs "and you couldn't tell me-?"
"because of something like this nini. i don't want you to start thinking too much of the situation when it isn't anything." he explains "i'm in love with you nini. you know that, the whole entire world knows that. nothing will change it."
she looks down at the floor "but that doesn't mean you lie to me."
ricky sighs "i'm really sorry-i just don't want you to second guess-"
"ricky, when you don't tell me things like this, that's when i second guess about myself and you can't-"
"i know." he says "i know."
they both stay there in silence for a few seconds before ricky takes her hands
"i'm sorry neens."
she looks up at him and takes a deep breath
"please don't lie to me again ricky. we have to trust each other." she pleads
ricky nods "i won't. i promise."
he brings her into his chest, wrapping his arms around her as she does so too, burying her face in his chest and him resting his chin on her head
