nini got off the last flight, arriving to the main land of hawaii with her suitcase and backpack.
she looked around her in awe at how beautiful everything was, but confusion flowed through her as she tried to find the boat that aria had supposedly planned for her to take
she walks along the port of the island hopelessly looking at the different boats that were parked
after minutes and minutes of searching, she sighs in defeat and puts her suitcase on its side, sitting down on top of it
her eyes continue to trail around her, looking at how clear the sky was and how the plants complimented the scenery of the ocean beautifully
but she abruptly stops her sight on a boy holding an ipad with unusual letters written upon the screen
squinting her eyes, she slowly tilts her head as far as she could to read them, just barely getting a look at her name before falling onto the floor along with her suitcase
"oh my god, are you okay?"
the girl groans as she feels two people help her stand up and give her worried looks
"yeah," she breathes
"i'm skylar," a girl with long brown hair smiles
"logan," a boy introduces
nini returns the gesture and nods "i'm-"
"oh, we know. you're nini salazar-roberts." skylar says, trying to hide her all-too-obvious excitement.
nini opens her mouth, not knowing what to say but skylar beats her to it
"sorry! i'm just-i'm a fan-so-"
nini nods with a smile "don't worry about it, it's fine. i'm just-i came here to get away from everything for bit so-"
"oh, okay. well, let's go!" logan exclaims happily as he takes nini's suitcase and skylar takes her arm, pulling her onto the boat
they sit down on the seats and a different brown-haired boy appears from a high place on the boat with a smile
"hey, is everyone on here?" he asks
skylar puts her thumbs up and he nods before heading back out of sight
"that's the captain." logan explains after seeing nini's confused face
nini nods "isn't he about our age?"
"i think so," skylar says before taking her journal out of her bag and starting to write
the boat started moving and nini felt the wind blow through her hair as she watched all of the little islands pass by them with the sun shining around
she looks at skylar, who hasn't lifted her eyes from her journal
"hey skylar," nini calls
the girl looks up and smiles at nini "yeah?"
"what are you writing?" she asks confused
skylar laughs "oh, well-i'm a songwriter-"
nini gasps and sits closer to her "seriously?!"
the girl smiles sheepishly "yeah-i'm not that good yet-"
"show me!" nini exclaims
skylar shakes her head vigorously "no no no-"
"oh come on skylar!" logan pleads as he sits down with them
skylar shakes her head again "nope." she says, getting up and heading towards the upper part of the boat
nini and logan exchange looks before rushing to the ladder to follow her
they climb up to the top of the boat where the brown-haired boy was at the steering wheel with skylar leaning against the railing and watching the landscape in front of her
logan heads to skylar to keep begging her to see the song, but she keeps refusing
nini shakes her head with a smile as she walks closer to the steering wheel
"hi,"
the boy turns to look at her "oh, hey."
"i-uh-i'm nini." she introduces
he nods his head with a smile "liam."
"thanks for having us on your boat captain liam," she says
liam laughs "no problem."
nini beams at him before walking towards the railing and leaning against it, as she saw the little hawaiian island, that they were on their way to, coming closer and closer to them.
