The skyline was achromatic, painted ivory that the snowy ground and the sunless horizon was nearly indistinguishable. A parade of nimbus clouds was marching above England's atmosphere, carrying the east wind with them. Once the coarse wind reached Hogwarts Express's windows it was disintegrated into zephyr.

The train ride for holidays was awfully quiet, if not, eerie. The latest safety protocol as updated by the ministry of magic, that young witches and wizards were obligated to have wand in hand or within reach in the train. The Gryffindor prefect, Lily Evans, was eager on making everyone obeyed this rule.

Since it appeared in the daily prophet that Lily religiously read more than her copy of potion book every single morning — the rules had erupted various opinions within students. Some dared to exchange bickers and banter, ignoring the threat beyond the steel door trying to defuse the tension.

Weather didn't help either way it was misty and cold, as if nature was trying to conceal danger that might strike them at any given time. It had become one of those risky time for the muggleborns, there were rumors that the death eaters would snatch them off the train. The chugging noise was riotous inside the compartments.

"It's okay." Lily's voice was dulcet, her jade eyes beamed with reassurance for the first year. His lips curved upwards, "You see, I'm muggleborn too, what's your name?"

"Harvey." stated the boy timidly, scarlet tinged his face at the amusement of emerald sea staring at him. "I'm Harvey Andrews."

"I'm Lily, and this is my friend Gammaliel." the vermilion-haired witch pointed to the Ravenclaw prefect, who was standing nearby the door with a weak smile and slightly paler face. "Hold onto your wand and we'll be there before you know." added the prefect just as dulcet, "If you need any help you can find me or Gemma."

The Ravenclaw girl tilted her head in awe as she examined Lily's soothing timbre, almost as soft as silk. She darted her irises to Harvey watching fear that glossed his face began to fade away, replaced with a smile. Her heart sank to watch the eleven-year-old was in constant fear. He just discovered the world full of magic for a few months. Yet, he had to learn that in times as such, having non-magical parents was a sin or a crime.

"Ouch!" Gemma winced as she felt someone pinched her left wrist, she peered down to find a face she was familiarized with — Ravenclaw's new trouble-maker, Jacob van Dijk. The brunet grinned smugly at her with a copy of Sherlock Holmes' in his hand, "Now, where do you get that one, Jay?"
