5 years later

"Grandma, can we ask you something?" Rome and Milana peek over their grandma's bed as she was reading a book.

She closes the book with a smile on her face, "Yes, you may little munchkins. What is it I can help you with?" She asks

Rome looks at Milana and Milana looks at Rome. They stare at each other unsurely, but Milana softly tugs on Romes shirt.

Rome turns back, "Well, it's Mother's Day tomorrow...and our teacher is making everyone talk about their mommy's." He says.

Their grandma smiles softly and looks towards her window. Lavender bloomed during the fall, she didn't know why. She never planted any flowers or even seen them bloom in her years living here.

She thinks fondly of her daughter.

She looks back to her grand babies, "Your mother was very warm hearted and she loved you both before she even saw you." She starts.

They listen with fascination and wonder as they listen to their grandma tell all the wonderful stories and memories of their mother.

They listened with no interruptions even when their door bell was rung. No one cared to open the door or wonder who was behind the door because all they thought about was Juliana.

Rome and Milana fell sad in the night after their grandma said to go to bed for school tomorrow. They knew who their mother was according to their grandma now. They just couldn't help to think why their own mother would leave them.

They whispered to each other little details they remembered of her. They were little babies when they knew her but surely they have grown to a big boy and big girl now. They were 7, they were all grown up.

Milana remembers her mom from her curly hair. She doesn't remember the color, which she was upset about but it was good enough. Rome remembers her kisses and he wished he can feel another.

Their grandma was in the other room, softly crying over her dead daughter. She wished it was Jaxon who was dead but of course she couldn't do that.

"Rest in peace my baby, don't worry I'll take care of your little ones for you." She whispers into the night sky.

And with that, she took her frail body back inside her warm cozy little house. She puts her coffee cup into the sink and leaves to wash for tomorrow.
